Looking for this date-comparison sheet between obama and JFK

I think I saw it in the a laugh a day topic, but i can't find it now. I think it was a page on some blog, and there someone compared simular dates of obama und jfk like graduation, entry in political world und such. I hope you know what I mean and maybe you still have it, would be really nice xD"

Quick question, should I keep IE6 or upgrade to IE7? Also I have XP SP2 installed should I install SP3?

You should not use IE in the first place. Use Firefox or Opera instead (or Chrome, but it's in beta status), which are leaps and bounds more secure and more standards-compliant to boot.

As long as you don't use it, the version doesn't matter.

Even if you're not using IE, keep it up-to-date. I would also recommend updating to SP3. I believe all of the initial issues surrounding people's upgrades to it have been taken care of, but as a precaution you may want to make sure that critical files are backed up. Have a plan for what to do in case something goes wrong - of course, you should ideally have such a plan in mind in case of a system failure from other causes.

^ I disagree with updating with either. (SP3 I think is still not good enough for the wild)

Keep IE6, don't upgrade to IE7. (if a site doesn't work, it will in IE6)

There is a standalone IE7 installer.
There are standalone for all other IE versions as well.

You will run into situations where a piece of software won't let you install it because IE isn't at least a minimum version (even though the software itself has nothing to do with the IE components.
IE 6 is good enough for the whining of most software - but yeah don't actually use it.

I had a weird moment the other day using Firefox when a website I visited insisted I update my WMP version to 11 so it could run a trailer. I'm sorry but there's no bloody reason in the world for me to use or want to install WMP 11. Result: I blew off the website and their product.

My best guess is that it's mislabeled GIF. Browsers render the pictures based on header and meta-data not the extension. So simply changing extension from GIF to JPG would do the trick.

It is possible to get shorter before old age. I have an American friend who prior to being sent to Iraq was 6'0" and after returning is now 5'10". If you carry a lot of extra weight around especially on your shoulders and head it can cause you to become shorter, apparently. Not sure how much truth there is behind that.

However in your case, I wouldn't expect that to be true Chaos-chan.

Scep it is a gif like escimo said, the jpg container can't be used for an animated picture, I think ... I did not see any jpg which could be used for this at all and I did not read about that.

The .gif or .jpeg means nothing. They are both just visual ques. That's why jpeg jpg JPEG are all the same. The browser uses the mime type to determine what file it is to render so changing the extentions wont make a difference. You can save the file to your desktop and rename it from egy1w2.jpg to test (yes no extention) then create a file named proof.html and add the following code:
Code:
<html><body><img src="test" /></body></html>
You'll notice that it still works just as well.

You can play around and make something like make a file arhive.jpeg that when you try to open shows as a image but is really an archive of some files so you can right-click and extract them like any archive.

If it's the i7 (Bloomfield) your talking about. It's scheduled for the forth quarther 2008.

Though i heard there are still some problems with the motherboards due to the memory controller being on the CPU. So might be delayed, who knows. No point having a working CPU without a motherboard to fit it in

But eitherway, i won't consider getting it. To expensive. DDR3 and a new motherboard. And the i7 isn't going to be cheap either.

Well, if my experience of Gonzo shows are any indication, it just means plain bad, usually due to unresolved issues.

I know Japanese can say words start with "V"(e.g Victory). But do they have a writing character that you pronounces as V (as there is no V in Kanakana, isn't there)?

If they does not, how can Japanese students learn to pronounce English words start with V ? Through kanji?

There is no "v" in katakana, but there are ways to deal with this.

One way is to substitute with a "b" sound. There is also the interesting use of ヴ followed by an auxiliary vowel in smaller/subscripted font to represent the "v" sound.

"violin" can be written in katakana as
- バイオリン
and
- ヴァイオリン
