I really hate this concept of AFO being able to basically just touch you and take your quirk. Especially since we know he isn't even using the real AFO quirk, just a copy. And, of course, OFA is the only quirk that's resistant to that.

Just reeks of BS OPness that isn't interesting at all. At least early on it felt like he either needed you to "allow" it or to take an extended period of time like he did with that one Pussycat.

It such a shame. We are a far cry away from interesting fights like vs. Stain, vs. Overhaul, and vs. Gentle, where there was a constant back-and-forth as both the heroes and villains adapted to the other's strategies. Instead, now we have AFO and Shiga just saying "lol, nope" to anything to heroes try. We have entered Madara territory.

Nah, at least Kishi had the decency to make Madara pretend Gai could beat him, we dont even get that lip service from Shiggy or AFO.

It really is bullshit. The way it was portrayed in this chapter, he can win any fight with just one touch.

BTW, I forgot to mention it last week, but I don't think I'm anywhere near as bothered by the Edge Shot thing as I probably should be because it feels so freaking much like the type of stunt that would be pulled in Kinnikuman, one of my all-time favorite series. And it's a series that's practically one of the leading kings of asspull power ups/miracle recoveries, so....

Anyhoo, in the next chapter:

As he enters inside Bakugou's body, we get a brief narration explaining Edge Shot's quirk. His ultimate technique is also revealed to make him as thin as a spider's web. Before entering his body, Edge Shot also made sure to sanitize his body using a bubble made by the cleaning hero, Wash. Inside, we learn that not just Bakugou's heart, but his lung was damaged, as well. Therefore, Edge needs to suture the wounds from the inside. He also hopes Jeanist and Mirko can hold off ShigAFO long enough, because if Bakugou receives any further damage at this point, there will be no saving him! What's more, Edge's technique is so difficult to pull off that the strain will consume his life force at an accelerated rate! Thus, he needs to hurry....

Back outside, ShigAFO is on the attack, demanding to know what the heroes are doing with that "broken toy". Mirko gets in his way, and she pays the price by getting her arm ripped off.... but that doesn't stop her from landing a devastating kick on the villain! Curiously, her attack actually managed to hurt him, which confuses the villain. He then realizes that he's also feeling the effects of Bakugou's final attack from earlier....

Jeanist makes Mirko some more prosthetic limbs out of his fibers, and the heroes continue their attack! As the battle goes on, ShigAFO is still confused as to why Bakugou's attack worked on him. Then, it finally dawns on him: That anxious feeling he had when he fought Bakugou earlier.... was actually fear. He unconsciously recognized the boy as a threat to him. As he comes to this realization, Mirko lands a flurry of powerful blows on him, which she calls her Luna Rush! As he gets blown away, ShigAFO begins wondering why the heroes are so desperate to save someone who's already broken.... especially when, during his own childhood, nobody helped a broken boy like him. He then thinks back to his family, during his former life as Shimura Tenko.....

Wasn't he only like, 200km away? I feel like he's had to have been running for quite a while as is, and we know he can move pretty fast. Shouldn't he already be like, 80% of the way there? And a jet from that distance probably wouldn't be much faster than him doing it himself, since they'd have to build up speed.

Thus, after finding himself getting damaged by Mirko's attacks, he creates new "arms" in the form of his family's bodies! He then counterattacks Mirko with a SMASH, knocking her away! He goes after the Big Three as well, but when Mirio faces him, he dismisses the young hero as a non-threat. The villain then goes after Jeanist next, telling him to quit trying to fix that which is already broken (Bakugou). The top hero attempts to restrain him, but it's no good. All hope seems lost, and Mirio wonders if this is truly the bright future that Nighteye foresaw on his deathbed.....

But suddenly, the heroes receives a message from Mandalay! She says to open UA's barrier, and to keep ShigAFO occupied for at least two seconds. Even that length of time is beyond them at this point, but Mirio comes up with an idea when he thinks of Nighteye's philosophy of a world of smiles and humor. Shouting "The peach is ripe!", he suddenly starts twirking at ShigAFO, utterly confusing the villain! Still, this buys enough time for the cavalry to arrive: Deku, who's accompanied by the jet squadron that supported Star and Stripe! He immediately makes his presence known as he lands a devastating SMASH on ShigAFO....!!!!

The chapter begins with a brief flashback of Deku meeting the squadron out at sea. They tell him that the "school bus" arrived to pick him up, and that while they technically should have been keeping a closer watch on UA, they chose to bet on getting Deku there first. The squad leader also says their little sister (Star) placed her hopes on the next generation, so it's up to Deku to take down the ultimate villain! This leads to the moment from last chapter's end where he lands a powerful kick on ShigAFO!

The villain, upon feeling the impact, naturally realizes that his opponent has become much stronger. Deku finally takes the time to scope out the situation, and.... sees nothing but devastation around him. In the middle of his shock, ShigAFO taunts him, saying that he arrived too late. Unbridled rage begins to well up within our hero, which the villain is about to take full advantage of. He plans to counter Deku's attack, and further provokes him..... until Mirio screams some sense into young Midoriya! He brings him up to speed on the situation, noting that Edge Shot is currently saving Bakugou, and reminds him that he's still a hero! Mirio's words indeed bring Deku back down to Earth, as he thinks of the words of veteran pros like All Might. He apologizes for nearly going out of control, but Lemillion says his apologies can wait until AFTER he wins! Now fully focused, Deku faces off against AFO... or perhaps Shigaraki..... with OFA's predecessors by his side....!!!!

Normally, you'd expect a manga that's supposed to come out once a week to let viewers know "Hey, there's no chapter this week", and there not being a week break is supposed to be so routine and expected that it's not announced in any way. But Hero Academia's update schedule has been so sporadic, unpredictable, and horrible that now chapters have to end with an announcement that there won't be a break the next week...

Well, there's no full summary at the time of this writing, but whatever. The main point of this chapter is that WE FINALLY LEARN THE SECOND OFA USER'S QUIRK!!! it's called something like Gear Shift (original Japanese is 変速/hensoku), and the way it works is that the user can raise the speed/velocity of whatever they touch. So naturally, Deku demonstrates this ability on ShigAFO! He keeps shifting "gears" until reaching his max at fifth, which is called Overdrive! The chapter then ends with Deku landing a devastating Detroit SMASH on his foe....!!!!

Oh, and our hero picked up another trick called Black Chain, which is basically combining Fa Jin with Black Whip. Also, the 2nd OFA user warns that Deku has a five minute time limit to using his quirk.... which I guess pretty much means our hero is going to suffer some backlash effect soon enough. Still, a technique with five gears, huh? Wonder where the author picked up THAT idea from....?
