Yeah, the narration explained that it was just one of the wavelengths used on its radars, and for a special radar. The comparison to x-ray might be primarily to help unfamiliar readers understand it works in the "pass through things" sense.

So in the end, what was the 0.01mm referring to? The wavelength of the radar (definitely not x-ray), or something to do with the microbes? I tried to keep it in mind when I went into the volume at the start, but still could not find a convincing answer.

Normally, they are pretty clear, at least in hindsight. Not this one, though.

.01mm is in the micrometer range, which would be about right for some kind of bacterial agent, though there [I]wasn't/I] one of those. Maybe its referring to the mold that was used as a delivery vehicle for the neurotoxin?

I'd doubt it was referring to the EM radiation gun, simply because it was present/relevant for such a short period of time.

On another note, I have absolutely no confidence that Robert is actually dead. They sunk him, but there was no evidence of damage to the internal structure of his Object, and the Mediterranean is pretty shallow...

Normally I would agree with you, since we know Objects can allow a Elite to survive enough time underwater so that a rescue can be made. Since the series has mostly independent novels and Kamachi is only starting to reuse more characters now, I kind of doubt it. Plus in the Afterword he calls the Old Fashion and the Lizard Tail "one-offs".

Didn't notice this when I looked at the raws the first time, but it seems that the 37th had new cameo members in the Heavy Object mangas, besides the usual Toaru ones (Uiharu, Misaka Imouto, etc...).

No double subversion, just plain craziness played straight through out, I cannot ask for more from a world power full of nutcases. Yet the ending still manages to make me feel a chill, as even the completely insane genius that is Skuld is still just a gear in this sick and irredeemable world. Had a lot of fun with this one as usual.

Like a fair number of countries, Russia has been broken down by the time of Heavy Object. With regards to some of the regions which once made up Russia, out of the two ones I know of, the Volga District (including Moscow) is part of the Legitimacy Kingdom, while the Kamchatka Peninsula is part of the Faith Organization. The exact reasons for the collapse of the United Nations have not been fully revealed yet.

I really like the repeated background cameos from other Kamachi characters in the HO mangas. We've had several Toaru characters in all the series, Shinobu and Yukari from Zashiki Warashi in vol 2 for HO A, and for the A's 3rd and last volume we had Kyousuke and the White Queen from Blood Sign (plus regulars Motoharu and Uiharu).

Shame it finished right where the anime did, I would have loved to see the Deep Optical in action in the manga.

Js06 translated EX Chapter 4 Spoiler for HO EX C4: We see Skuld's Elite adjustment method and some more details about Urd and Verdandi's configurations in the Trinity Style. The 37th lost the fight, and Quenser was taken prisoner after he saved Skuld. It's a shame it took so long to be translated, the spoilers and illustrations take out some of the surprise about Skuld, but it's also fun reading the dialogue between Urd and Verdandi knowing what they actually mean.

In proper Quenser fashion, he immediately gets in trouble by harassing Urd, who turns out to be the vulnerable to lewd stuff. Erics is there, though he can't do anything to help Quenser and is conflicted about the situation. Both Quenser and Eric find out about Skuld's true nature from her sisters. Meanwhile, as the 37th's soldiers leave what's left of their base to go save Quenser, Froleytia is informed that someone used the confusion of the bug swarm to murder several soldiers, and that their White Flag signal took so long to be used last chapter because it was sabotaged. Skuld's mask begins to crack.

In classic Kamachi fukou da, Quenser is kind of Skuld's ideal target, suffice to say he doesn't enjoy this one bit. We'll likely see Skuld's version of the Norn next chapter for the final fight. At least Quenser's wish for a little sister Elite came true.

LazyHunter Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Spain	Spoiler for HOEX C8: The Norn is quickly dealt with, but Skuld manages to flee to a civilian village nearby, leading to a final staredown. Quenser cleverly takes advantage of Skuld's insane nature to trick her and blows her up, breaking both of her legs. And since she would enjoy being killed and is too dangerous to be kept around, the Faith Organization is going to basically keep her in an artificial coma in one of their research facilities, denying her her chances of killing others and her own death. Cruel, but fitting. Interesting reveal that Skuld hears before the end. There are other Norn teams, and this is the 5th Skuld Urd and Verdandi had had to deal with, as they seem to always fail and break down. It makes sense since it was a Elite mass-production program. Additonally, this is one of the programs of the Faith Organization intended to one day create unity on their own factions. At least even they realize they are the most fractured of the 4 global powers and the most prone to infighting. The other 3 have some conflicts, but those are usually caused by individuals.
