Looks like his fletchling will evolve first and he has another bird/fighting pokemon added later.

This is strange because usually he acquires all the starter pokemon but now his companions have them, but he still needs fire and grass or the producers gonna change things up this time.

Maybe give Ash a Fairy-type or Ghost-type pokemon.....

His bird pokemon will comprise both flying and fire. Satoshi really needs a grass type. This will really be the first grass type he'll have that's not a starter. He got Krabby in Kanto. Then, Corphish and Torkoal in Hoenn, and he traded Aipom for Hikari's Buizel to get a water type in Sinnoh. He has had no other grass type that wasn't a starter. I hope the anime staff gives him a good one.

Oh, boy, they remixed another song that was fine the way it was. It was fine for the Mega Evolution special, and I really didn't expect it to be an OP music for the main anime. Well, it's only as long as Corni's arc goes on, which shouldn't be that long, since she's the next gym leader. This just reminds me so much of Diamond and Pearl's Greatest Everyday. It was a nice song that got remixed, which replaced the original track during the Sinnoh League championships in the OP, and just was never the same.

I don't think Ash will use his old generation pokemon.

BTW, OP seems to show them as "badass" characters (Look at the "confidence" on their faces! and special background) rather than funny or innocent. Maybe anime will buff them up from the game.

One possibility is making them travel with Ash. After Ash properly challenge Clemont in the gym battle at Lumiose City's Gym (5th gym in the game), Clemon and Bonnie may left the group to stay at the gym as gym leader. Then, Ash and Serena will run into these three.

Ash should get a Fairy, Ghost, or Dragon type. Psychic and Dark types less likely due to Team Rocket having them.

The way I see it with keeping up the same formula for Ash's Team:

From the recent OP and ED his Fletchling is going to evolve into Fletchinder getting the Fire-type which is a basic type member for his team, adding that it will double as well as a Flying type. Furthermore, Ash's is going to catch a Hawlucha which is a Flying/Fighting type adding another member into the team and leaving two more slots unoccupied.

Since in the past series, at least, three members of Ash's team have always revolve around the Grass-Fire-Water type elements, then this current series won't be an exception, and for his Kalos Grass-type Ash eventually is going to catch a Skiddo, and thus leaving one space left for his team.

The last space could be occupied by any type, though as someone posted previously there are going to be limitations on which type Ash gets for his last pokemon team member:
1. I do agree that Psychic and Dark types from Kalos are out.
2. I think a pure Fairy-type wouldn't suit Ash's team, unless being a Fairy with a secondary type combination.
3. The more I see fit would be the Ghost, Steel, Dragon, or Ice types, leaving plenty choices for Ash's last team member:
Honedge, Noibat, Goomy, Bergmite, or other choices.

lets face it serena hasn't been interesting at all im a lil annoyed that they're doing another summer camp arc but im not surprised at how they introduce the group. Fun stuff in that preview including ash and group seeing xerneas.

By the way I submit that this should be moved to current series since pokemon is still running and hasn't ended
