So I finally got around to watching this and greatly enjoyed it. Much more depth than I was expecting given the premise.
I was shocked to discover there is no second season for Hinamatsuri. Is there not enough manga content? Seems like the show was popular enough to deserve a sequel.

It wasn’t, really - and that was the part that surprised me. In looking at this series it struck me as the sort of show that should be popular - lots of cute girl stuff and light sexual innuendo. But it tanked on video and the manga didn’t see a big sales spike. Why? Maybe the very depth which drew both of us to it turned off too many potential fans, who didn’t like a cute girls series challenging them the way Hinamatsuri sometimes did.
