It seems that the maelstrom of intrigue is gaining real momentum now. I loved the way the Count looked when speaking to Haydee in the carriage going home from the opera. The sheer malice is intoxicating

Certainly not an anime (or indeed story) for children...

I'm really interested in how the story will turn out from now, it seems a lot more eerie by each episode.

ep 7 was a masterpiece ,this show keeps on getting better.I like how they make up things that weren't in the book without betraying the story.i think that Albert wasn' t so naive in this episode ,he sounded quite bitter in fact.

Like they say, Out of the mouth of babes. But that little kid was too irritating for words. I am however really impressed with the look of this anime. It is totally different from the norm and a breathe of fresh air, but my next question is how does the Count's mistress know Albert's father.

Legally, the Count owns Haydee as property (that's in itself is another story, one tied in with Count Morcef). However, he treats her more as his ward than mistress (he certaintly haven't slept with her up to this point. As for Haydee's relationship with Count Morcef, she not only knows him, she will be the instrument of his downfall.

They just introduced that character and now she's doing the six minute workout. It would have been far more meaningful (and spicy) if it were Valentine or Eugenie. I suspect fanservice which also makes me suspect desperation for ratings.

That scene with Madame de Villefort isn't entirely gratituous, I think.

IMO that scene is a device to erode sympathy for what happens to the character later. It takes a particularly twisted personality to get herself off at the thought of a cold-blooded poisoning spree.
