What's the point of that question? If you've seen the first season, you should know.

Spoiler for The older one:

Anime has never noticed it. So, if "according to the anime", Mion's still the older. Yes?

Well, the anime doesn't change the original story...

I've been wondering for a while now, but I notice on various websites (Wikipedia, IMDB, etc.) that the live action film has an international title of Shrill Cries of Summer. I'm curious to know where this title originates from, since I don't ever recall the films being available in English. It just seems strange that this title exists at all. Anyone know what's up with this?

"Shrill crys that say 'I'm taking her home!'"

~All fear the Ryugu Monster of Hinamizawa

(Even the local goddess (especially the local goddess) fears her.)

"Au au au au au au..."

Anyway, the "shrill cries" probably refers to the higurashi. Which is an interesting way of referencing it without actually using the word 'higurashi', which might confuse non-Japanese people.

Does anyone know if there is a picture online of Mao Sonozaki, Mion's distant ancestor from Kizuna? I've been wondering what this Mao person looks like for ages now. lol

I don't think there is. Mao, along with several other characters, didn't even have a sprite in Kizuna.

Aww, that's unfortunate. I haven't been able to get Kizuna so far, so I didn't know.
Regardless, thanks for giving me the Red Truth!

I don't know Japanese, this is just something I've read by someone on the old FUNi board. The title "ひぐらしのく頃に" has a pun and I think "Shrill Cries of Summer" comes from this pun, even though the Japanese title is the same. I know... one post on an internet forum =/= the truth, especially since I myself have no background knowledge in the language either. It would be nice if someone could confirm this.

Both titles do play off different meanings of the word "cry", but it's played differently in each. ひぐらしのく頃に, higurashi no naku koro ni, directly translates to "when the evening cicadas cry". The cicadas are an important element in the sound novels and anime, providing an unforgettable background noise with their calls. However, it can also be read as if the cicadas are crying in remorse for the tragedies occurring in Hinamizawa. The link in Shrill Cries of Summer is more obviously interpreted as the idea of people crying out in pain than the calls of the cicadas, but it still has the important idea of dual meanings.

That's not really a question, but there's a reason for that. I saw the second season before my little sister did, and I had to remind her "yes, you're watching the same show" when she started tearing up at the end of Minagoroshi.

I already finished the VN but i still don't understand why Rena eavesdropped Keiichi's convessation with Oishi in his room for more than 1 hour in Onikakushi. Someone knows that?

Hmmm…perhaps Rena was concerned about Keiichi's strange behaviour and decided to check on him? Either that or Keiichi just imagined his father telling him that Rena went to his room… or the father misunderstood, or something… But I think it's mostly likely that Rena was just worried about Keiichi.

Hey, are these deluxe versions of the manga, or are they something new?

It's light novel.
The text is same with Kodansha Box version. But the illustration is full-colored.
I did some shots, here for example of Onikakushi-hen.
The size is smaller, and price is cheaper too.

hum... but supposing she went to check on him why didn't she knock on the room's door even once instead of standing still the whole time?
