Thanks for the link, listened to the ED, that's the supercell song! it was supposed to be the "theme song", people just assumed it was the OP back then.

Spoiler for episode 1 thoughts:

As expected, it covers pretty much chapter 1-4 of the first series. The visual is great as expected although there are few places they went overboard. The first-person view is very detailed and amazingly well done. I'm disappointed that they went into serious tone in this chapter and cutting out most boke/tsukkomi/monologue out, but overall, it was good.

That's my opinion as a reader, though. Non-reader may found this episode extremely confusing.

"Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari" ending theme is simply amazing, both lyrics and music. The opening, er, not a real opening this time but a well-done 1:30 minutes recap of the Kizumonogatari prequel (and I am very pleased by this.)

Anyway, if you don't like this episode, I'd recommend you to watch until episode 3 ("Mayoi Snail") before decide to drop since they will switch to a gag-direction (which is the point of the series .) Oh, and Tsukihi & Karen's preview is so damn funny and cute.

I can't wait to get a proper version of the first episode, but even after watching a bad stream, I know I already love the art direction. I mean, I do love how SHAFT shows look about 90% of the time (sorry, Natsu no Arashi), but this stands out even more - I'm so keen on the color schemes, character designs and whatnot. I can tell I'm going to love every minute of the series for its visuals (& everything else too, I hope!) - but I probably knew that the moment I saw the promotional pictures being posted one after the other.

It's also good to know that this isn't the actual opening to be used for Hitagi Crab. I was confused to hear an instrumental piece while meg rock was supposed to have worked on the series. Thanks for clarifying ths, sirn!

Denpa-Teki na Kanojo minus Moe plus Kichi?

Haa, again... The heroine(?) reminded me of that crazy girl from DenpaKanojo, except there is absolutely no moe and her craziness is at the lunatic level. Ah-ah, very... unamusing.
Good boys and girls, be sure to call the police if you meet someone like this. They are probably doing dr-...... *cough*...

As of now... It is hard to say. It was interesting, but not as much as I expected. None of the characters have really stood out either. The story just drones on, from beginning to end.
The "Shaft" visuals didn't help either... As always, it is fun to watch the visuals, but I can't really say it matched the whole time. Sometimes made me wonder if they wanted a laugh or not, especially the part where the protagonist and heroine were walking and visuals similar to the Zetsubou Sensei OVAs' OPs started appearing on the screen.
Gags were rather cold too... Just a lot of the crazy girl acting violent...

Even if you only have 5 kilos... When you fall that much, I don't think you can easily catch someone.
What about wind? You fly off by slipping of a banana peel, so surely a strong wind would make you...

OP was... Well, was that the OP?... It was cool though.
The ED was averagely nice. I don't mind still pictures for a ED's visuals, but it is rather dull when only one picture plays the entire time...

Yeah i've only seen a bad stream so far, but boy was it worth it just for the visuals. Sure the stream didn't do them justice, though i like to think of it as a nice little preview. Will check out an actually raw later tonight.

This show is going to be such a Shinbo treat.

How are the books done? I bought 4 of the BOX editions of Bakemonogatari, but I haven't opened them yet. Are there different girls in every new book, or will there be several girls/arcs in a single volume?

One could say this show is the evolution of Shinbo's work. Everything he's done upto now was just a build up to this show. Techniques, effects and so on.

Seriously about time a ShinboxSHAFT show had a decent budget for him to play with.

Whoa... WTF did I just watch? That was rather indescribable. A lot of work, creativity, planning, and artwork. Mind trip sort of eh? Pretty interesting, pretty interesting. Will be watching this.
