Hmm... they removed some tsunderization between Illya and Kuro, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. It makes them feel closer without getting into as much awkward loli selfcest ship-teasing. Also included more anime-original slice-of-life scenes that reinforced their sisterlyness. Again, I think it worked fine.

Hate it when the antagonist does what Barret does and just walks off like that lol.
Was thinking shouldn't it be time for Kuro to get that curse mark removed already? But looks like it did get removed in between the ending credits. Looks like next season is going to focus on Miyu.

Also, loved the bath scene when Ruby just floats out of the tub and behind Kuro to block her butt for the inevitable uncensored BD. |

Well that was a great episode. They managed to fend off Bazett and put her in situation where she has to temporarily abandon her mission. Loved the scenes afterwards that really make Kuro feel like she has the life she always wanted. I also hope Luvia and Rin's relationship never changes
Although you have to wonder why Miyu wanted details when she learns Ilya slept with Kuro Glad the announced part 2 is in production. Though now I really want to check out the manga so can someone tell what chapter they left out at?

Just goes to show how close this situation was. The best they could do was force this compromise. Still haven't actually resolved the situation. But in the end I have to agree they can treat this as a win. They are all alive and that's the key thing.
I'm certainly glad they tossed the "will continue in 2015" bit just to eliminate any doubt. Though kind of wish they could have just kept it going until they finished this second arc. I did love how Rin and Luvia pulled off that pleasant on the surface moment while plotting against each other beneath it. That's quite the nutty "friendship" they've got going. Think it might not be a bad idea to remove that cursed mark from Kuro before the 8th card or rematch against Bazette. At this point it's more of a hindrance to them since it just handicaps Kuro when they need her as an offensive force. But not surprised they didn't do it earlier since Rin and Luvia were still getting their heads around the idea that she wasn't a threat any longer.

I quite liked how the Bazette fight ended. It would have been a serious suspension of disbelief if Illya could actually defeat Bazette, so with a little teamwork (Guess Rin and Luvia weren't completely useless after all) they at least got Bazette to back down, although I'm sure she'll find a way to undo Rin's curse seal very soon.
As for the eight card, it could really only be Gilgamesh. Don't see it being anyone else. Now the wait for the second part begins. Winter 2015 would be nice. That way we get a years worth of Fate material. |

In the manga, it felt like it was just Bazette, but here it felt like both. Granted, that chapter had some very bad wording and such, so I'd trust the anime on this more than the manga translations. Specifically, the manga read like it wasn't even the same curse at all.

I'm not entirely certain about the anime's translations either, but I'll admit that the wording in the manga around there needed some work. It doesn't really matter, since Spoiler for totally not a spoiler:

I'm honestly not sure whether it is just a weaker curse or not. Since Bazette only said she felt a dull pain in her stomach instead of actually feeling like she got hit by a truck. That would make me think initially that it was the weaker curse. Though possible that the current pain for Illya had lowered to a level where it was only a dull pain. Ruby was working to heal her for a while there after all.
And even if the curse was weaker it's possible the death thing was a total bluff from the beginning. No easy way to call it especially when you are sharing pain. It's a great bluff really. Some nice moments anyways near the end. Could get a good laugh from Miyu wanting details about Kuro and Illya. Kind of surprising that it just seemed extreme curiosity instead of being accusatory. Also good for Kuro to have Illya around. Illya can really bring the mood back up and help with not worrying so much about the future. Even though they have plenty to worry about right now.
