The series improves considerably once the actual plot starts, yes

That said, it is just going to be an improved version of what came before, so if you're expecting a drastic shift in tone or anything you'll be disappointed. The fights are better, the rewards are hotter, and the story progresses more each arc, but that's about it

Season 2 will also introduce members of the other divisions. More lending, more different forms for Yuuki with diferent abilities. More gods of thunder. And most improtantly:

This one left me pretty indifferent. And the fanservice was actually worse than in Legends of the Dipshit Ring King. Since the MC is not a complete idiot, however, it gets a 5/10.

You should definitely give S2 a try when it comes out. As the others have said, the downside to this season is that it covers the weakest arcs in the entire series before everything hits a groove. This is really 12 episodes of prologue, as shown by the scene with the Gods abducting Coco and Naon.

The manga is surprisingly good for a mainline ecchi shonen battler. Without exaggeration, it consistently improves arc after arc.

Well, even in the source Manga, the amount of Fan-Service we get until the Yuuki's Sister plot is pretty mild. The more interesting stuff starts happening after that plot, which is going to be covered in Season 2 onward.

Sure, just meant that if anyone disliked the show because of its content as opposed to be because the quality wasn't high enough, the next season probably wouldn't change their opinion.

Unless they're really into Domination loss or something, anyway
