Sure is comforting to know that the first OVA still isn't finalised! (Not)

Maybe in a month the OVA will actually look good on a whole and not just a handful of shots. Good luck, staff?

By the time we get Zaregoto Kubikiri Cycle OVA it will look magnificent. Shaft, in general doesn't deliver good PVs but amazing anime.

Im not worried in the slightest.

The design looks better this time but I'm still worried about it considering all the images of Tomo before this second PV were terrible, it wasn't her at all. Obviously anime-only viewers who has zero knowledge about the source can think in a different way but we all know what Shaft did to Mekakucity, I'm looking forward to see how Shaft finally redeem themselves with Zaregoto and maybe Mekakucity s2.

I dont think shaft has to redeem themselves for anything. MCA's biggest fault was the author himself.

Im not worried about Yase Yuuki anymore. Looking at his storyboards he is good. Probably the most shafty one there since most of their recent directors have become a bit tame. This has a good source material that needs a wacky director. Im excited.

Completely wrong, also considering you didn't even know the source material I can't say you have anything right on your statement.

On MCA the problem was Shaft and the way how they adapted the first season, cutting and rushing the LN's, ask to anyone who read the source and they will tell you the same (or just go back to MCA thread and see what the actual readers told you). Zaregoto on the other hand is looking much better so far but the break point here is if Shaft is going to adapt this in a good way and how they improve the character desing (considering the difference between the PV1 and PV2 is noticeable).

I read the source material for both MCA and Zaregoto a while back please dont assume things.

Jin didnt follow his own LN yet its shafts fault? ok. Even tho historically shaft has been known to follow the source material? Maybe in their own style and out of chronology but still adapted the story.

Shaft isnt Gonzo they dont just change the source. You are again blaming the wrong people for the failure of a bad anime.

Then if you read the source you know that on the first season of MCA some parts were completely missing, same as connections between characters right? because that was a huge let down for almost everyone who read the LN. That can't happen again on MCA, and hopefully that won't happen on Zaregoto (which I think is a better story overall).

Shaft follow the source? yeah on Monogatari they do that. Shaft has 50% of the fault on MCA, is not everything the author's problem, they can take desitions regarding how they will adapt the story and both of them fucked up.

So yeah, MCA S2 needs to be much better than the first one, same goes for Zaregoto and how they're going to catch the vibes from the LN without cutting content like they did on MCA s1.

I just think it's cool that we're finally getting an anime for this. I'll take whatever I can get.
Aoi Yuuki's voice is just too good.

Oh please, Mekakucity's problem is EVERYONE's fault.
It ended up that way because not just a single person, but the entire production crew screwing up as a whole.

Jin goes without saying. He can't do the script right, and there is no excuse in that.
While Shinbou has to be responsible for letting Jin do the script in the first place. I had no idea WHY he insisted on making Jin did that script. Despite he knows how bad Jin is, as he's the one who had Jin re-doing the script countless time.

And I don't even need to go into on who messed up the art direction. It was so terribly not Kagero Project-like, hence why I was horrified knowing who is directing Zaregoto. Stop copy-pasting the monogatari-style!

Died laughing when I saw the credit list for background art in the first OVA.

I quite enjoy what I saw, though I find the advice that "Ii-chan's image of self versus other characters' (and readers') impression of him are quite different" a pretty good reminder. Now the wait for the next OVA.

yes, the impression I got from read the book, I thought he is like Arararagi less pervert.
but he's seems quite 'normal' in anime for now.

Loved who voiced Aikawa, it's perfect.

Don't fell for the trap.
This OVA is vol.1 content only.
And you know we don't even get to start on finding out Defect's true color until vol.2

What stood out immediately from the first OVA episode is the music and dialogue usage.

Shaft's style to animate this was quite impressive as well imo with the body movements. The character cast all seem interesting so far. Out of all the ones introduced at the moment, I like Kunagisa the most.

Ii and his chemistry with her already has my smiling a few times. Pretty entertaining start so far. Akane stands out as an interesting character too.

OVA 1

This didn't really have much of an impact on me. They introduced everyone in a rather not so engaging way. Everyone in the mansion is a genius and has some degree of weirdness, or at least the MC sees them like that. I liked Kunagisa and how it took exactly five seconds to completely wake up from her sleepy state. She's fun. The others didn't exactly come off as that interesting. There were some fun moments like how the kinpatsu ponytail was reading the guy's mind lol. Typical shaftness in the visual department and that's not a complaint or anything. Looked pretty good overall.
