Lol, Rory got blocked by a phone call. Oh well, tough luck.

The fight felt fast imo this episode. One thing that did catch my interest is the debut of Nanami as a reporter on-screen.

All in all, rather fast-paced. Maybe they will spend some serious time on the next major arc, consider that we still have 14 episodes to go.

I watched this on streaming, the episode is delayed for some reason until tomorrow. This episode was rushed as fuck just to reach the Dragon arc. Nanami oh god what they did to you...

The next-episode preview stills show a new major character that does indicate they're going to keep things moving along rather than bog down in the PX store filler storyline. They did drop out Pina's attempt to smuggle some guns back home which I was rather looking forward to seeing.

Itami should have kissed Risa-dono goodbye though. Wimp.

Yep. The show was probably falling behind so they couldn't give Crunchy the script to translate until it was too late.

Another good episode. Rory, the most dangerous pole dancer in the Universe!

Rory is definitely strong and her halberd is made from some extremely strong material: she shattered a boulder and there wasn't even so much as a chip in the cutting edge. And that line from the dying agent:
Spoiler for line:

Pinya is no airhead, she made some good deductions from what she saw going on around them. And magic absolutely works on Earth!

I liked the reveals of what the girls bought in Tokyo, they were all quite appropriate And the abrupt reminder of Tuka's dilemma.

There seemed to be more background action this episode. I hope that keeps going.

All of the gore mongers should be pleased: severed heads and limbs, blood burst from gunshot wounds, blood on the rocks, blood on the water, blood on clothing, blood on faces, pretty much blood and body parts everywhere.

And, you know, Rory spitting out bullets like a beast (I like that they went into detail on the bullets and showed them properly mangled up from entry. )

Also, this show is the only one I've ever seen the animators willing to animate large crowds, even for a moment. Seeing all the civilians at Ginza waving made me think "Dang, that's a lot of work, even for a 1-3 second loop of waving hands." Just comes to show the level of work being put in every week. If delays mean great quality, I'm all for it!

something about a loli swinging a giant axe is sexy , just in anime though cause i guess i would run in rl , but this episode was good , i didn't feel it "too fast" but at the same time i am not sure how slow it could have been .. Rory pretty much decimate the whole enemy team with little to no effort ..

Damn!!! Rory is a beast! Her power is way beyond anything in the GATE world so far. Well, she is a Demigod afterall. Loved the details when her body was regenerating with the bullets falling down. Although short, the action scenes (and dat OST) were such an eye candy for me. Rory dancing on her axe while dodging/reflecting most of the attacks was also cool! If she keeps going with these performances i will have to include her in my top10 waifus for sure

To bad their visit to Japan is already over. I felt it was kinda rushed and that they could show a little more. The anime would benefit way more with one extra episode for this part, but overall i loved it. Rory <3

Aww, they merged some of the dialog from the shower scene in the manga with the end of her rampage thus removing that scene entirely. I suppose this is an acceptable compromise. I've heard this particular scene with Rory killing the agents wasn't in the LN so there was a chance it wouldn't be in the anime at all. But looks like they took the middle ground. In the manga, Itami takes Rory to the bathroom and cleans her. She was topless in that scene (though the manga didn't really "show" anything. Her hair obscured that.) I suppose I understand why they removed it. Likely to preserve the pacing of the episode more so then censorship.

There was quite a few other tiny things they cut out like the princess trying to smuggle a gun into the special region and the metal detectors and such. Probably would have been another whole episode to wait for if they jammed all that in. So it's probably not always censorship when they cut things out.

The Rory scene wasn't as censored as I thought it would be either. It's not all out limp chopping off gore. But this time they showed blood coming out during the gun fire and the guy lost his arm just like in the manga. It's not as graphic because they used certain camera angles so that you can't see the bone/other tissue on the part where his arm was cut off. (the Manga didn't give a damn and showed everything. :P )

A more then acceptable compromise. Maybe it was budget regions they didn't have this much blood in the fight scenes of episode 6. The only part where they might have censored for gore reasons is the scene in that episode when Rory chops off the top half of the soldier's heads in the scene where they tried to surround and spear her. The rest looks like they didn't have the time/budge to animate blood and stuff. :P

As always, Rory is just awesome . Managed to give her a great bit of action at the start and showing that....no one is going to have a good day when they pick a fight with her. Even if all the sides were on the same page...I still think she prob ably would have had a pretty easy time massacring the lot of them.

Good breakdown as well by the ex-wife on how Itami looks at the trio of ladies that have entered the picture. Of course he doesn't really bother denying the breakdown since she does know him really well.

In some ways I think they tried a bit too hard to make all the other countries look incompetent, but when a demigod enters the picture they'll look that way regardless. The only thing that seemed a stretch was the end where Japan just happened to be able to take down all the agents from the various countries without a single disturbance.

this episode title supposed to be "Despair and Hope" so I'm expecting a depressing episode considering the buildup from previous episode

however, I can't stop laughing when they said "We encountered another team from another country"
and Motoi resigned at perfect time which left no one to blame from the whole diplomatic chaos because of killed agents. If the prime minister is still there, then there is obviously would spark a war.
USA just got trolled hard and Russia and China barely managed to get out safely.
This incident actually give a strong reminder for other countries to not try to mess up with Japan.. Great pull by the government

Feel bad with Risa.. she already showed so many flags but Itami is too block-head to notice that. I guess she is already in kouhai-zoned.. still root for her though

Kuribayashi siblings are also somehow play a strong part... while the most beautiful thing is Otaku Culture power... from a mass of crowd into forming a line just in few minutes is truly something you always see in anime convention even in the real world
Those guys might made a new religion for Rory-sama
It is also great that no Ginza incident's victims are present around the area

The character development involving Pina is somehow become a focus.. The princess is now preparing to take a significant step that might put this show ended sooner than we know

Lelei bought a laptop... damn! that is brilliant! considering they could only find electricity in Arnus, Lelei is considering to stay forever in the encampment
oh... Tuka's problem might rise a big problem in the future but this series seems ignoring it for now

the next arc would be focused a lot in Special Region. It is a pity that we might not see another diplomatic struggle in Japan but it is not bad to try to see a whole new arc

I think it showed how Rory still has a little regret being made the way she is now. The tone of her voice as she says her body "can't" die shows that imo.

Must admit that I giggled at Lelei buying the laptop.

I thought the onsen fight scene was quite good, but it also shows tthat the default combat mode of using firearms really isn't a viable option with Rory - even though it works pretty well with other inhabitants beyond the Gate.

Perhaps to really stand some kind of a fighting chance with her you would have to do something drastic, like they did with the dragon in earlier eps, and then flee as fast and far as you can. :\

It's not that we necessarily want gore, it's that it's just what happens when Rory fights. Anyone that comes against her just gets chopped to pieces.

Her limbs can reattach if blown off, and she regenerates. I suspect that even if she were to lose a limb entirely it would eventually regrow. And keep in mind that as a demigod she is primarily a spiritual being, growing closer and closer to being a pure spirit deity as she approaches the end of her physical lifespan; which is roughly 1000 years. Even if someone were able to destroy her body in its entirety, that doesn't necessarily mean that they've killed her.

The fact that she's consciously acknolwedging that her father is not there is a progression in her mental state. Before, he (obviously, in our eyes) wasn't there either, but she would keep getting food and clothes and such for him, and apparently could not consciously recognize that they weren't being used.

Progress as it may be, it could end up wreaking more havoc on her mental state if she cant find her father. Her mental state was in a stalemate between progress & regression because she could still see her father, now that she can't see him, it could go either way.
