You may check out Nexus for mods, but I'd rather practice shooting while on horseback, while understanding its limitations (i.e. limited angle of fire, unstable platform, timing, target acquisition).

This is the only one at the moment:
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15213

Unfortunately it's only in one color -- white. I would prefer red for increased contrast, especially when there's too much snow glare.

You gotta love the mod makers. It's amazing how some mods can fit together so well.

Spoiler for Armor, bandoliers & pouches, cape, weapon set:

If anyone else wants to create an evil overlord, here's the armor. Or you can try this one, deadly looking spear included! - I'm blind...

I'm thinking of making a spellsword, and I'm coming up with ideas for their apparel. I'm thinking of going with a female Breton that uses swords and sometimes uses maces (for when she encounters a couple or few enemies with heavy armor). In the left hand she'd wield spells, using wards, doing healing magic, and using some destruction magic sometimes (mostly lightning and then throw in some fire magic sometimes for the fun of it). I'm thinking of going with heavy armor because I've never played a character who uses heavy armor. I was thinking of getting steel plate armor as soon as I can, and then working up to ebony armor. I used my Nord warrior character to depict what my spellsword would look like wearing the apparel I'd like. What do you guys think of these get-ups?

Spoiler for Pics:

imo, the hood clashes with the rest of the ebony set. It looks a bit better on the steel plate armor because of the color, but again, the texture of the hood works against the steel.

Maybe there's something on Nexus that you can download for your hood.

If you want another option for your armor, you can try this (it's similar to the Ebony armor and requires the same smithing perk):

Or, you could try looking at the warmage picture in this armor compilation:

Yeah, for me, those helmets are what I see as "conflicting" with the armors rather than "clashing". A mismatch, but I see it as softer than you. The thing is, I give them more leniency because I don't want to use a steel plate helmet or an ebony helmet. A bit strange I guess, but I don't want my femmes to wear helmets where their faces are totally hidden.

The war mage armor has the hood, but I much prefer the look of steel plate armor and ebony armor. So after explaining all of that, do you think going with the wolf pelt steel helmets is not a bad way to go? If I could find something that works better than those, I'd go with them, but I haven't found them yet (if there even are better alternatives to them). Also, I only wear helmets when confronted with enemies or when roaming dangerous areas. Otherwise, I don't wear them. And I only go into third person sometimes. Most times I'm in first person.

I understand... it's pretty silly to download an entire mod if you're going to use only one part of it. I'd say go for it then. The only other hood mod that I can think of is the dragonscale hood mod, which recently added a heavy armor version of it, but I doubt you'd want to waste an extra perk for crafting.

The dragon scale hood would have been a solid alternative, but there is no grey version and no black version.

I have to admit I never got around to finishing the game. I got bored with after gaming the system too much and end up being overpowered and lost interest quickly after. Just reinstalled again and this time, with a few extra mods to keep combat challenging and the dragons interesting to fight. Anyone got any recommended mod to use?
I m just using weapon and armor fix, complete crafting overhaul, skyrim redone and deadly dragon for gameplay changes.

aye, I avoided all the "god mode" and "overpower" mods like crazy... to me that's the same as a one screen button you press and it says "you win!!!! you 1337!!!" Derp....

I do use the Deadly Archery mod because in my medieval archery experience - bows were horribly underpowered in the vanilla game. Besides the NPCs get the bonuses as well so be sure to duck.

I use a mild crafting perk mod that re-aligns the smithing to better match the weaponry.

There's a spouse store mod I use (because I should be able to say "sell this, dear").

Other than that, the other mods are appearance changers (prettification, animations, sounds, or fashionable gear) or small things like aligning NPC and PC movement speeds (for those damned escort quests). I do let my mages use "Ethereal Horse".

I experiment with weaponry and armor but most of it I chunk because its overpowered or suffers from clinical stupidity.

Wasn't aware that bow was underpowered in the vanilla version. Then again, i didn't try archery the first time around (went with heavy armored mage setup). I'll give it the bow mod a shot, been spending a lot of time previously with Mount and Blade which despite the dated graphics and lack of polish, it nailed the medieval combat very well. You should give that game a shot if you like games with semi realistic melee and archery combat (horse archery is a joy in that game).

As for most weapon and armor additions, yeah i dont fancy adding those. Usually arent very well balanced. The mod i used is just a rebalance of the stats to make gears scale in a linear fashion and avoid the cap issue though i doubt i ll get into that problem being a light armor archer + 2h weapon character.

Well, it depends on which playstyle you utilize for bows. If you play a sniper/marksman type with the 3x sneak damage modifier, then I don't believe it's underpowered, as you can get an ebony/daedric bow and have a field day. However, compared to the one-handed and dagger sneak bonuses, yeah. It doesn't have as much of a boost, which I would say is mitigated by the fact that you're at a distance.

In direct combat... yeah, I would have to agree that archery is fairly underpowered. Though not to the extent of being a pure mage, as you can't improve magic damage via smithing or enchanting. I actually favor hunting, Imperial, Nordic Hero and Orcish bows as opposed to daedric bows in this scenario because of the draw speed difference.

But back to your request...

Enhanced High-Level Gameplay: allows regular enemies to scale past the vanilla level cap. It also improves their damage and armor ratings. Compatible with the Deadlier Dragons mod, which I use as well.
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14449

Throwing Weapons: adds throwing knives, javelins, axes, grenades and some joke items like Captain America's shield an a throwable Fus Ro Dah. Most of the items rely on the archery tree; the Dwemer grenades rely on Smithing and the flasks rely on Alchemy.
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14176

Dual Wield Parrying: able to block with your offhand while dual wielding or having a spell in one hand or being unarmed. There's four different settings that determine how much control you have over attacks and which attacks you use (for instance, one version doesn't allow you to use dual wielding power attacks because blocking overrides that setting)
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14176

Deadlier Combat: series of changes to make combat harder
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5485

I need to look through my Nexus Mod Manager to look at further gameplay change mods that I have installed.

Edit:
Locational damage: For those of you wondering why an arrow to the head deals minor wounds and an arrow to the knee kills

Thanks! I'm getting the enemy AI mods; as I'm lv53 it was getting too easy for me to pick them off with single shots.

These look pretty interesting - I may start/restart a couple of characters using them.
