First post in this thread. Hmm, and I do wonder where the Yohane x Riko ship came from. Honestly didn't expect that. xD

So far, my favorite characters in this show are You, Yohane, and Dia-sama. Hope to see more of them in season 2.

I am heavily biased towards Cyaron (Chika, You, Ruby), but outside of Cyaron I like Yohane, Dia, and Hanamaru the most.

Main difference seems to be that Mari is much more popular with the English-speaking part of the fandom. That's pretty fitting, I guess.

Kanan is much more popular than I'd have thought, from both audiences.

At least Riko is 4th in the PV poll so I don't feel as bad about her being 7th in the english community.

Same here. I am positively surprised that Kanan is doing better than I thought in terms of popularity!

It's a bit saddening to me that both Ruby and Chika who are my top 2 ended up on the bottom 2, but I'm not too bothered by it. I assume even the last places are still well liked in general, so the negative connotation that comes with being on last place doesn't have that much meaning to me.

Now as for Riko, I'm actually somewhat surprised. I didn't think she'd be so low compared to 1~6.

For what it's worth, I suspect that pure conventional sex appeal plays a significant role in the English-fandom ratings. If you were to ask me to rate Aqours from 1st to 9th, purely on the basis of "hotness", these ratings are pretty close to what I'd have.

It's possible that all 9 girls are generally well-liked personality-wise, and physical appearance plays a big role after that.

Mind you, you can't take the PV results as a sign of popularity. This is just a matter of fans voting who will take center for a song. If you want to see popularity, you should have seen the various popularity boards that some businesses like Animates, Gamers, Toranoana or Softmap and you can get a pretty good idea who really is popular.

Mind you, these results are like 2-3 months old, but you can get some idea how these official polls aren't a test on popularity.

As I guessed, it makes sense they aren't pushing You to be center again for 2 PVs in a row, but what's surprising is that they are pushing Kanan hard for this poll. The last poll for Koi no Aquarium, Kanan was dead last. If you take into account on the Japanese fan favourites, Yohanne or Hanamaru would have been at the top. The fans are playing some sort of game or strategy for this single poll.
