What is a Kinetic Novel?

Taken from Wikipedia:

Quote:
Kinetic Novels, which are notable for being an experiment in online content distribution. Most of these fall into the completely linear category, lacking any choices at all; as a result, some fans have begun using the term to describe other non-interactive titles.
The company that made the game: ocelot

The game is written by the best seller writer; Sakaki Ichiro (the author of the shounen(boy's) light novel Scrapped Princess)

There are also 5 light novels based on the game.

The Crimson (red) series of light novels, the White series of light novels, the Black series of the light novels, the Blue series of light novels, and the Short Stories series of light novels.

The five versions of light novels are written and illustrated by different authors/illustrators.

All the light novels (Crimson, White, Black, Blue and Short Stories) are published under the GA Bunko light novel label; which is a male oriented label aimed at boys from their teens to young men in their twenties.

No problem, NeoSam~

My interest was first piqued by the demo that insani did. Its translator also did pretty good with the heavy stylishness in the game opening and not to mention that it was a break from my usually moe-laden activities.

I just love underdog stories. Then the characters were pretty nice looking to me, even if some would call their attitudes cliche-ish.

A wimpy-looking, shy but cool-a-times bishounen (Folon), a pair of sisters that look a bit like Hiragi Anri and Matou Sakura, and the fair spirit Cortikarte. I'm still a bit in doubt in calling her a tsundere, since she practically made a slave out of the main character in the demo. (Those parts were quite funny to me too.)

I'll be putting this one my radar, that's for sure.

BTW, since it was a visual novel, I guess it means that it's pretty much linear in terms of plot (think Feena's storyline in Yoakemae). Or did the full game feature branching storylines like Fate/stay night?

Yeah, the demo was among the best insani had to offer in the past year.

I am REALLY anticipating the anime release, let's hope it captures the feel of the visual novel.

And imho, it is firmly in moe~ territory, although the fantasy and storybook-like elements stand out the most.

But then, of course, they will dumb^h^h^h^h simplify the anime drawing...

Aw well, another avg that looks interesting. Might try the game if I have time...

Anyone wants to comment on its story (not only the demo)? Is it good? Erogamescape rates it as good (average = 79, mid pt. = 85)...

PS The story description sounds like the Symphonic series from Kogado...

Doesn't seem like much to post, but I just finished the demo. It's pretty good, both the story (thus far) and the translation. Gives me a feel that I'm really reading a sample chapter of a novel.

There's been several series of light novels converted into anime with great success, so I guess I'll be anticipating this one. Wouldn't hurt if I could get my hands on the novels themselves, though.

Wow O.O another 2 new light novels are starting soon

Lets see, for now there are three light novel series; the crimson (red) series of light novels, the black series of light novels and the white series of light novels, which I mentioned in the first post of this thread with all the current released volumes >.< but there are more new series of light novels starting soon

On February 2007 the first volume of the blue series of Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica gets released, yes now there's also a blue series strarting

And it doesn't end there in January 2007 the first volume of another new light novel series that is a short stories of Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica gets released

So these are the light novels that are available and will be available:

Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica (Crimson (red) series) - currently 4 available volumes.
Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica (Black series) - currently 3 available volumes.
Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica (White series) - currently 2 available volumes.
Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica (Blue series) - first volume will be out on February 2007.
Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica (short stories) - first volume will be out on January 2007.

Wow 5 series of light novels

If anyone is interested in knowing the names of the authors and illustrators for each light novel series, just ask, and I'll gladly add them

But thats not all >.< a manga based on the crimson (red) series of light novels is starting serialization in March 2007 in the free online manga magazine FlexComix Blood (a free online manga magazine starting in January 2007 that will serialize shounen manga from the recently defunct shounen manga magazine Shounen Blood and also serialize shounen manga that got serialized online on Web★Blood).

Is this one of those marketing ploys like Pokemon where you have to read all the colours to get the full story. I kind of like those to be honest (when I'm not paying) and am wondering how its going to work in the anime version. Also does anybody want to do a brief plot introduction in spoiler tags.

I'm intrigued as this looks like one of the visual novel types that aren't a dating sim (i.e predicatable and mundane beyond the first one you've played. I swear you play one you've played 90% of them, for me it was Tokemeki Memorial on the SNES), which is the kind I like.

If anybody wants to get excited and jump up and down, I'll let them in on some things

【キャスト】(Cast)

タタラ・フォロン / 神谷浩史 (Kamiya Hiroshi)
コーティカルテ・アパ・ラグランジェス / 戸松遥 (After 20 minutes I have no clue who the hell this is)
ツゲ・ユフィンリー / 川澄綾子 (Kawasumi Ayako
サイキ・レンバルト / 小西克幸 (Konishi Katsuyuki)
ユギリ・ペルセルテ / 水樹奈々 (Nana Mizuki)
ユギリ・プリネシカ / 佐藤利奈 (Rina Satou)

Haruka Tomatsu.

She's a new seiyuu. Apparently the upcoming Bokurano and this are her 2nd and 3rd role respectively, after she played some random voice in Manabi. I haven't watched that one (( not until next year, probably )) so I'm not sure how she sounds.

The only two that really ever rang a bell in my head would be Kawasumi Ayako and Nana Mizuki. Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar about the rest.

Whoa, I loved the Crimson covers >.<

Still, I'd like a synopsis. And I bet that the anime alone will not cover the full story, I'm betting it'll cover about 25% and leave a cliffhanger good enough for the fans to get the rest of the light novels >.>
