I know the 5th emblem from the left is obviously Karaba's. But why are they using a EF flag Emblem ? AFAIK, they weren't associated with the EF. Unless this is another animation bug.

No, it might not be Karaba then... I remember seeing Karaba's emblem having an Earth in it and that's why I put that one down, but the flag looks like it should be the Earth Federation Government flag... So the seal should be an EF flag (as opposed to the other one which is an EF Space Forces emblem?) Or maybe they changed it sometime between MSG and Zeta.

A check at the official item page listed No.5 as "Earth Federation". I think this is as official as it gets.

But it all gets even more confusing as seen in the following page :-

Where Amuro and Hayato is seen donning that EF's Emblem despite being listed as belonging to Karaba. The only logical explanation will be Karaba's members are splintered from EF's.
