Many things count for rating:
-Accuracy rate
-Evasion rate
-Time bonus
-Death deductable
^Those things for sure...there should be more.

The easiest way(well I play co-op in the arcades) to get destiny is to have a good evasion rate(Can't be hit more than 2 or 3 times), and have more hits that misses.

Well, apparently, I used them pretty often in previous game.

Whoah, I see that I and Ansa nearly completely differ in MS evaluation ; )

I think... I just beat the storyline part of Plus mode(and god was that last part a pain in the ASS) as now I can start doing good missions for normal antags (Such as Kira) and can do bad missions for Luna.

And for some odd reason they actually included good missions for that one insane guy who tried to drop J7 onto the earth o_O

Out of the MS's I've tried thus far...

Freedom - Personal favorite, I'm not totally sure about this but it seems a heck of a lot faster then Strike Freedom, it's normal attacks are good and if you know when to use the spam attack then it's godly.

Strike Freedom - Dragoon's are all well and good but they aren't THAT useful most of the time and the rest of SF's attacks just seem to hit less then the original Freedoms...

Nuke Windom - Oddly useful for arcade mode, or as a large range unit in general.

Savior - wtf did they do to it, it's slow as crap now It's attack seems lowered and it just outright is really toned down... to bad as Savior was my fav. in the last game >.<

Original G's (Strike, Aegis, ect) - all of them feel really toned down as well, and it's easy to tell that they are vastly slower then most of the other units.

Goof (all 3) - they are... OKAY midrange units but overall pretty useless, the basic beam attack is really sucky the heat whip can be useful at times but it really leaves you open to attack if you miss (which is odd since the unit is godly fast).

Zaku (all types) - Meh... slow, underpowered and just generally not very useful... why do they have to give you every different type of them anyway? >.< well actually Dearka's custom one is actually pretty good, but it does seem to work better in the hands of an NPC.

Impluse (all 3) - Sword - meh not enough power output and low range isn't good. Blast is quite awesome for Plus mode (mainly the missions where you can fly all the time) Arcade mode it's just okay. The other one (don't remember the name, the one that can fly in the show) really doesn't have enough useful weapons. It's got great mobility but it only has a normal beam rifle and a saber, almost all the other MS's in this range have at least 3 good attacks (and I don't count the gallanting guns as a good attack >.>) it CAN be used well if you do mid-close range combat at all times and change between the saber and the rifle.

Destiny - Pretty awesome unit now that I've spent a lot more time with it. It has a great range of weapons it's quite fast and easily the most pratical MS to use. Oh an a tip, change up your weapon with Square then (while still holding Square) press Triangle now you can use the charged shot as much as you'd like (if you press and hold the button down again before the shot finishes anyway) while still not having to take time to draw out the sword (as, unlike the rife (not charge attack) you can keep the sword ready and still use the charge attack, this really can make short work of some units.

Legend - I can't really say as to providence as I haven't tried it yet but Legend itself is a pretty good unit, it has a good amount of attacks and the dragoons are useful but I just seem to have a hard time being able to control the dragoons well (I'm sure there is some kind of trick or something that I'm doing wrong) but overall it's a usable unit all in all... although I wish the Dragoon's weren't so god awfully easy to dodge >.<

Akatsuki (Both) - frankly Dragoon Equipped is just better then the other one, spam attack doesn't have enough range on the non-dragoon and without dragoons it's just not the greatest unit to have...

More to come.

------------------

Now I have a question, what is it exactly that gets you Faith Badges? I've gotten them quite a bit but I'm having a hard time placing exactly what the requirement is... I THINK it's if you kill all the units but I'm just not sure...

SF does not suck compared to Freedom. How can you even get less hits with SF when his standard combo is clearly longer than Freedom's? In terms of range and speed, SF is better than the original. Set dragoons beside you and they can be chained by CCB(double tap boost+melee). Abuse the CCB since it has freaking long range. It can be chained by a BR or CS(charge shot too). You can abuse the tripple issen too(CCBX3 in SPEED), since its damn fast and does good damage. Use GH(Green Hom) with his CS(the one where he combines his rifles) at long range(when the target is in green). If you don't know how to do that, simply locked on to the target you want to fire to and switch to the other target when SF is about to fire CS. The beam will be kinda like sideways and homes after the first target.

I'm no expert in this game, but thats all info i know for SF from the past few months i have spent in this game(arcade) and watching videos.

Out of the MS's I've tried thus far...

Here's how I see the MS after playing them since July, I started out with the 450 and now moved on to the 560-590's....This is more of a human vs human look(arcade) at the units:

Freedom - Good, B+C have the homing attack.

Strike Freedom - Dragoons can be made into a godly attack(A+C, A+C, CCB), Double target attack(don't use it much, it attracts both computer), double rifle shot has a homing attack to it too. Beam spam has not been changed to A+B which I likey. More useful B+C attack, does a spin with the beam swords out.

Nuke Windom - Slow nuke launching, the missles are a good stun move, most likely a support unit.

Savior - For what it is, its still a strong unit to use. Sub attacks are great, CS like the Launcher/Blast MS, transformation and badaas melee attacks. HP was severly reduced though.

Original G's (Strike, Aegis, ect) - Just as strong. Aegis, Raider, Blitz and Buster are still popularly used. I find the Duel(AS) still useful except its not really compatible to the Seed Awakenings(power works).

Gouf Ignited - These things were made for melee based battle, the beams are really useful for the final drop of health. A+B attacks are versitile for there can be directed horizontally or vertically. Side sword attack can be linked with the A+C for another melee combination. B+C has a brutal Slayer Whip attack. This is one of the special melee units that can almost always stop a melee attack by A+B then pull them in for a attack.

Zaku (all types) - 420 cost are really basic, but there are 420 for a reason, they are support type units for when you play with a friend(560 units).
The custom Zakus are more useful like Heine's, Ray's and Yzak's.

Impluse (all 3) -
Sword: Boomerang is sure to have a high return hit rate meaning it gives you time to use you main attack. B+C is a great move comboed with up+B after that, this move does not get priority even if you do it first. I prefer the Gouf or the Sword Strike over this.
Blast: This got really pumped up over the Seed VS version. Spear throwing to stun units is a great attack, its fast and great for that last bit of HP in the target. 2 types of missle shots, wide shot is the best for close - mid range so they get stunned then blast them with A. Dunno about the PS2 ver. but Launcher Strike is glitched so the machine gun is way stronger.
Force Impulse - You can say this is probably the strongest out of this 3(Force Impuse, Aile Strike, Strike Rouge) and preferably better by attacks.

Destiny - The F. Impulse of the 590 MS, lotsa moves and chain-able melee attacks as well as CS moves, my friend uses this and proved that this is an awsome MS to use.

Legend - This is a pretty complicated unit to use as a primary/attacking unit since it is mainly a Dragoon oriented MS. Best way to use this, stay in the back and keep switching targets using A+B & B+C. As you launch these Dragoons individually, the target's warning indicators will go crazy having yellow and red flashing everywhere at a different time. Best to use as a supportive unit, very hard to do tihs tactic when a target is close unless you can multi task really really well

Akatsuki (Both) - Preferably the Oowashi Akatsuki is the best IMO. Why, the O. Akatsuki has a fast reflection move while the S ver. has a delay when activating and deactivating. Machine guns vs Dragoons, obviously the dragoons win. Dragoon shield is ally use only, sucks cuz my friend doesn't need it. Its to wide and its timed, two shots of the BR kills it. Anyway the main point of the Akatsuki is really the reflection, and the S. Akatsuki pretty much sucks in that because of the delay.

Thats my look on the units, computers don't reaquire alot of skill to kill, they just defeat you with numbers.
Playing against people actually raises you skill even if you lose.

I hate plus Mode though i do like the one hit kill rounds and the destiny in plus mode is only available right toward the end and for some reason LUNA can pilot it at one point

fight KIRA at level 19 with only a level 5 Shinn is very very challenging at best

Its 2B(back+melee)

can be chained with B,B,B combo

so its like B,B,B-->2B---> end with either 8B or BC(melee+boost)

Eventhough its damaging, the combo is too long and you'll get shot while doing it. Only good for 1 V 1

LOL, I got Athrun, Yzak, and Dearka their SEED Gundams in PLUS mode. Good stuff.

As for the blue ovals, I don't know since I haven't really tried using them yet.

It should be in the middle, on the left of the MS choice. I think there was 5 choices.

And I just noticed, the black Zaku has 2 axes but you cant even do a combo.

Oh I see it, It says "SP"Command", I suppose it means what you want it to do when it goes in Seed mode(awakening).
Anyone think that characters that turn on you in the real story get harder missions if you want to keep them on your side(Yzak's desert escort level).

I was quite pissed off too. But I eventually nailed it. it took so long because I missed the part of the tutorial where Lunamaria says you can press select to switch of the target camera. So when I figured out the mission was actually alot easier

But to be honest I'm pissed off again. I've got these two pain in the ass missions which I just can't win. The worst of them all is one where you have to shoot down 30 or so shuttles whilst being attacked by daggers and strike freedom. The first minute or so is easypeasy. Afterwards however, there are suddenly 7 to 10 shuttles at once. And you can't let more than 5 shuttles pass or the mission is over. it causes some bad karma man

I'm almost at kira's final mission which concludes the first part of plus mode. After that mission you'll get those 'what if - missions' where you can get kira and his happy crew on your side.
