I've been a big fan of Pastel for quite some time now, but it bothers me that Mugi still looks the same after being in high school for three years. He looks a middle schooler for hyne sake. Even Yuu's little sister did some growing when she was away for a year in the states but... Mugi? >.> *disappointed sigh*

I can't remember if it was Volume 7 or not, but yes, it switched from Weekly Shonen Magazine to Monthly Shonen Magazine (also approximately when the story slowed way down and also when the chapters became very long).

but seriously, although i still follow the series, I have never encountered a manga that beat the bush as madly as this one. Its like you wanna pull your hair every other chapter for the slow(VERY SLOW) pace of their relationships. Heck, even my grandfather was way more faster than this |

pastel has its good points even with the slow pacing. it shows how yuu and mugi come to like each other for what they are instead of rushing it. but to tell the truth, i stopped at chp 53 and skipped to chp 80 and above for the main action

one of the things I have personally enjoyed about pastel is that the manga has gone on past the confession/acceptance stage and lets us see where it goes, there are certainly harem elements to the story as other girls flit in and out of the book but mugi is pretty true and for me this has been more of a slice of life than a harem, which means that the story didn't have to end.

yeah normally in harem manga the guy have at least some influence, but in mugi case he is her cooking machine (for not saying b*tch); yuu can go and have fun with any guy (example sasa-yan) but mugi get in a 1 meter radius of a girl and she got angry....thats not love, she's worried that she can lose her cooking slave

"THANK YOU!! I was about to say, 'How come there is no thread for Pastel?!'
Ah, the very first manga I read and fell in love with... and I barely use that term. I actually read all the chapters more than twice!! (Obsessed, I know -__- I need to get a life) I agree with Mykas, Pastel goes on beyond the 'finding love and confessing' cliche which is a major plus side. The same with Riltz. Mugi is really Yuu's cooking machine ... but then again, he does enjoy it. Anyone here gets angry about how Yuu treats Mugi? How she is really hypocritical and whenever she does something, her excuse(s) are valid - which is funny since she told Mugi to stop blaming others while she continues to do so very often (usually towards Mugi). Who is the do you guys think best character in Pastel is? Hmm.. Tadano Mugi ... why did his father name him that... really comical.. or touching depending on how you look at it I suppose." |

Isn't it wonderful to be able to do that again since the story is actually being updated now unlike a couple of months back? - hopefully I didn't jinx it. Nice avatar by the way.. goes perfectly with your title.. 'hot, yet cute at the same time' was the line right?" |

Definitely not the ero-kawa in this manga. Mugi came down with heavy 'protagionist' power in the amount of girls flocking his way for the drama. Nice that he sticks with Yuu. |

Yeah! Seriously, for someone who was not so confident due to his plain-looking face and break-up, he has a lot of girls flocking around him.. even upper-classmen! Well, that is one of his many admirable qualities .. which is the reason why so many girls like him." |

Holy crap it took 80 chapters for him to confess finally. I was about to nuts if Mugi and Yuu didn't hook to that point. But now I'm really interested what's gonna happen next. Finally caught up to chapter 98. Other than the sluggish development on the romance, it's a fun read.

Ya I love reading this manga, glad the scanners picked up the pace a little (not that I begrudge them when RL issues get in the way).
Anyway, more importantly, Clamp-X, that girl in your avatar has a seriously strong heartbeat.

OMG... i just read the last tankoubons and the "girl competition" at Mugi's (without him of course, was hilarious)....
i love so much this kind of mangas... But this one, despite this "harem vibe" isn't an harem manga, despite its "i think i read it before vibe" it's quite refreshing... i don't know, i love it.
