It's funny how no one so far has leaked the info about Crow getting wrapped up if it keeps the top spot for a number of weeks. The moment this is known to public, Crow's ratings are going to sink no matter how good the chapters are. And then mission accomplished, Nanamine style or not...

I think if that happened, Eiji would just refuse to draw and quit. I don't think the editors want that.

This arc is quite exciting, can't wait for the next chapter.

The idea of incorporating the color page into the plot is pretty good, I'll be surprised if the next week of Bakuman doesn't have a color page to demonstrate the idea.

No I think it's still around. Notice how before the end there before PCP was 3rd with Giri in 2nd? PCP was always getting 4th, the unnamed 3rd was probably supposed to be One Piece. That or the comic finally decided that cow-towing to One Piece always being the most popular was hurting the story.

Eiji quitting the manga? Hard to picture... Besides, by now pretty much every editor and author in Jump should be aware of the deal. If the details were to get leaked outside anonymously, it's nearly impossible to tell who's at fault and how it has happened. Considering that Eiji was the one who approved the info getting passed to all the Jump's staffers, he would have no one else to blame than himself.
Well, it's a manga, not the real life, so whatever...

Any ideas on what the setup could be? I totally can't wait to find out.

My theory, within the bottom part of their opening panel it writes 9日 00分 meaning 9th 00minutes which I believe is prophesying something.
Don't ask me what, the authors hadn't come up with the gimmick yet.

Do you mean the Bakuman authors don't know what the gimmick is, and read the speculations about their latest chapter hoping to get a good idea?

It should be something with some connection with colors I mean, it's a colored page, right?

Hattori's right. I've never enjoyed a chapter more just because of a color page. It really just fanservice, and it's pretty risky to place most of your eggs in that basket.

I have, but not with a series like PCP.

give a manga like TLR a color page, use it wisely, rank top3 easygoing - even if it's only for a week =/

Judging by the reaction at the end of the chapter, I'd say they tied.

tie is still a 'loss' for Eiji IIRC.

I'd say the trick was weak and a little stretched but the cliffhanger was magnificent.

Maybe. But it's the early results, so it doesn't mean a thing.

Wouldn't a fall in the rankings be more shocking?

It would, and in general I think that's what going to happen, given the way the author's seem to enjoy putting obstacles in the path of the protagonists.

What an evil cliffhanger... I'm dying to find out the results. The trick behing the color page was a bit underwhelming but I think it did its job.

The trick behind the color page... I ended up not reading the rest of the kids' explanation as I found it uninteresting.

If they won with that, I'm going to feel that it's kinda cheap....
