There's such a thing as an "open ending", you know? The "point" of all your choices is the little things they affect along the way; it's completely infeasible for developers to write endings that take into account whether you killed your plant or not.

Well, Until Dawn comes to mind right away, even though it basically portions of an overall ending you have or remove.

Clearly, the Save Chloe ending tells you nothing about survivors. Like not a single one of them survived ? Max didn't think it was smart to warn people about the lighthouse ? "Oh yeah, it's safe over there by the way".
Nah, I don't get the open ending vibe over here. As I say, it's a logical choice at the end which makes perfect sense, but to me the devs were a bit uncreative on that part.
And open to what ? Mystery solved regarding Rachel, Max can't use her power anymore, and the town may not exist anymore.
I, for once, wouldn't like a slice of life game as a "Life is 2 Strange".
