Here, now, before even watching the episode... I make this one outlandish prediction:
Spoiler:
I'd say it the other way around... but... we all know the circumstances here.

Ooooo ... now I am all excited.
*heads off to watch raw* **** Edit: ok ... ep 4 is out! **** Edit 2: Yatta! I'm soooo happy that has been dealt with.... I would vote 8.5 out of 10 for the ep, but I can't, so I will vote 9/10 instead, if for no other reason than because Rihoko deserves such an ending imo. Okay ... I'mma dance now. Anyone else want to join?

Thank you!
I seriously about yelled that out at the end of the episode. Of course that was right after threatening to enter the screen and kill Junichi if he friend zoned Rihoko again. Seemed like he might just do it and for that reason I was ready to smack him over the head with a mallet. It took all this time but finally the friend zone got destroyed. Rihoko might not be my favourite of the heroines, but I'm still glad she finally got her happy ending. This time it was well deserved since she was really trying this time to confess. Still good thing Junichi was awake or that Miya situation could have gotten even more awkward . Good for Rihoko and I'm looking forward to Ai's couple of episodes.

I think that these two episodes, even taken on their own completely ignoring the first series, do a pretty good job of covering all the bases of the appeal of the childhood friend romance and how those usually play out in galge: knowing each other forever, having lots of memories, being a natural part of each other's lives, and at some point realizing that the relationship you have with each other is irreplaceable. I think Junichi's realization that not only did he love Rihoko but that he has always loved her without even realizing it is on the one hand obvious, but also the key. It was the combination of them starting to come to face with what would happen after high school (in sense, the integration of the senpais was good) and that incident with the lowlife classmate who just wanted to "score" that served as the trigger to finally make the change. Mission successful.
The only problem with this arc is that it obviously begs the question of "what happens next". I guess on the one hand it's obvious: not much changes, because they've been together forever anyway. But we don't really get a chance to see any of the future; just the confession, the kiss (which we don't really see that well anyway), and Miya getting the hint that something's changed. It's very much redemption for people who felt she didn't have a good arc in the first series (as this completes that nicely), but it still leaves me feeling that they could really use another sequel to show what happens next. Anyway, I quite liked this arc, though I do wish they didn't leave the confession to the very end so we could have had a bit more "now in a relationship" time.

Course, to be fair on the classmate that tried to hit on Rihoko, at least he had the manners to leave her alone when he found her heart had already been given away.
But ikwym ... it felt that this was how the season 1 arc should have ended. -_-

Ah well, guess I'm the only one who feels this episode and confession itself was meh - befitting of the filler girl that Rihoko is :P
Almost no development, no action, no drama. Waste of airing time!

Wha ... whaaaaaat?! Filler girl! Fiend! But in all seriousness, no - I have come across others who have mentioned the same thing, and that this mini arc didn't do much for them either.

I'm....I'm crying. T_T
Finally, after getting "Friendzoned" in the 1st season, i thought it was going to happen again. But thankfully at the last minutes, they finally confess their love for each other! Kyahhh!!!!!! I'm proud of you Rihoko. You finally got the boy you loved. I'm so happy crying right now. I feel like a parent seeing their daughter finally getting the person who truly loves her. Excuse me, i going to go cry together with the Rihoko fans.

Wow, talk about anticlimactic. Even the confession felt shoehorned into the episode at the last minute, despite the obvious buildup. Heck, they couldn't even bother to animate the actual kiss. It's almost as if someone put a gun to the director's head and forced him to kick out a 'happy' ending for Rihoko, since we don't even get a timeskip.
I'm not a big Rihoko fan, but she deserved better. Oh well, at least Ai's arc is already looking fantastic (delicious thigh pillows are great for speedy recoveries ).
