See: http://news.msn.com/world/deaths-rep...ocid=ansnews11 ======================================= U.S. missile attacks in Syria ruled out for fear of rebel backlash: "The Obama administration is opposed to even limited U.S. military intervention in Syria because it believes rebels fighting the Assad regime wouldn't support American interests seizing power, Gen. Martin Dempsey, chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, writes in a letter to a U.S. congressman." See: http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2...ervention.html ======================================= It’s All About Brand Awareness in Al Qaeda’s New Syria: "As rebel-controlled cities in eastern Syria, including Al Raqqa and Deir Ez Zor, fall out of the hands of the Free Syrian Army and into the hands of Al Qaeda-allied groups, Islamic extremists are adopting new marketing techniques to recruit followers. btw for those who want Obama to do something, who wants to sent troops into Syria? because that is what is going to take even if Russia and China agrees not support Assad.

It would seem that plans and ideas are being brought up on possible strike by naval vessels now. Plus I just heard on BBC/America that the UK is also ramping up activity too. It's about too get real!

I don't buy it. The chemical weapons are just deployed in such a silly way.
Too late now, somebody, somewhere, decided that they want this fight, and will do what they will to make it happen. If the US government is lucky people would now focus on the Syrian battle rather than PRISM.

All for what? "chemical weapons"? So all the death and destruction that happened in the last few years doesn't count because it is done with bombs and bullets?

Also what's been said is it will be a cruise missile strike for now. Wether or not ground forces are sent in remains to be seen.

I don't know if that's the primary motivator, but I wouldn't be surprised if it weren't on the minds of some of our government employees. Aside from people with ties to Syria, I can't imagine who would support the US getting involved.
