It qualifies as an example of Informed Ability IMO, as I don't actually see her doing any commanding except shout "ganbade!"

i too feel that old man looks like Arawn, but that young girl is definately not Riannon, previous eps did mentioned that is a "maiden in her head"

Well, i decided to stop since i'm just too busy to write one if i didn't do it earlier after watching the show.

My reviews of Tears of Tiara are back!
I got one thing to say about episode 17...

Spoiler for ep 17:

BRILLIANT! Absolutely Brilliant!

One of the best episode i seen with lots of action & drama. And it helps that almost all of the parts of this episode remind of the Battle of the Pelennor Fields from LOTR.

So on to the review!

Spoiler for The Review:

As Arthur races to help Avalon, the defenders continue to fight off the continuous onslaught from Gaius troops, which include Siege Towers & fireball catapults. Gaius is confident they will win this battle since the Gaels can't hold on much longer.

Meanwhile, Arwan, who still in a coma, has a dream. In the dream. we finally meet Myridin, who is reveal to be Arwan's father (he calls Arwan "My child"). Myriddin recounts all of the previous ages of the world had gone through, only for each of them to end in calamity once each age reach their zenith. He later meets the little girl from the OP, whos name is reveal to be Primula & Pwyll. Both of them assure Arwan they never blame him on what happen in the past because they believe in him & so do the current generation as Pwyll shows him a vision of the Siege of Avalon (with a Song played in the background by Suara) as Morgan, Octavia, Rathy & Llyr fight off the Imperials as they manage to get into the walls by Siege Towers, Riannon commanding the defenders and Limwris, Ermin, Epona and the women of the city try to get rid of the fires at the forest near the gates. These vision, including one with Arthur still determined to save Avalon, convince Arwan that the fight is still not over. Before he leaves Pwyll & Primula, Primula gives Arwan a necklace made out flowers of for luck. (You might think after he would wake up but he still didn't!)

As dawn comes, the defenders have mange to hold off the Imperials (lots of dead bodies scenes) but they soon go "Oh Crap!" when they see something coming from afar. Remember the previous episode of something big was coming to Avalon?
Well that big thing is not other than Grond. Grond! GROND!!!

Actually it's not really the Grond but a giant 50 foot Battering Ram covered in Steel!!

But let's call it Grond for the sake of it.

Later that night, Gaius assistant asks Gaius if what their doing right now is right. Gaius respond Victors decide who was right or wrong. But he assures him after they conquer Avalon, he's gonna attack the Senate since he see's them as corrupt & cruel & wants to make the Empire a better nation for the people. To show he's really serious, Gaius strike his sword at him... only to reveal he was actually striking & killing the spy (the same spy that discredit Gaius at the Senate) who was hiding in his tent. Seeing this, his assistant faith in him returns & wants to help him fight against the Senate.

Meanwhile, Arthur reach his destination, the forest of the Brigantes tribe where he encounters Taliesin. Arthur ask him to move aside so he can ask the Brigantes Chief for help but Taliesin won't let him through since he still wants a rematch. Arthur doesn't want to fight which surprises Taliesin who wonders want change him so much. Arthur realize all of this time, he always fought for his Tribe traditions & laws but never for himself. He also realize when his sister was kidnapped & he lead the tribe to go to war against the empire, the Gael tribe didn't follow him because is was their duty to their leader, they follow him because they too felt his pain of losing his sister & wanted to rescue her & their hatred against the Empire cruelty convince the tribe to go to war. Everyone fought in what they believe in, because they believe in Arhtur & Arwan to make their world a better place. So Arthur wants to repay all of what they done by saving Avalon from the Empire. Taliesin is impress of what he said, as tells Arthur he is truly King Pwyll descendant & acts just like him. Taliesin finally summons the entire Brigantes tribe, revealing himself as the son of the previous Chief & current Chief of the Brigantes who is cursed. As the entire Brigantes tribe arrives, Taliesin declares the Brigantes now serve Arthur to which a thankful Arthur tells his new allies that their going to save Avalon.

Unfortunately during this time at Avalon, the Gaels try to stop the Giant Battering Ram Grond which is being pull by some large Rhino creatures & defended by large number of soldiers. Despite their efforts including using fireball catapults, Grond's steel armor deflects it & the Imperials manage to get inside of the Drawbridge control room & lower the bridge which Grond batters the gate.
Realizing, they can't defend the outer walls anymore, Riannon orders everyone to retreat into the inner walls. With all of the defenders retreating, Grond finally manages to break the gate & Gaius leads his troops into Avalon.

Lol Age of empires indeed. Now that you mention it, it really does remind me of it.

Anyway, Ep 17 is truly fantastic. Best ep so far. Lots of action and drama. It is like a mini helm's deep. Cant wait to see the fightback next ep. Die imperial scum Die!

Like with Phantom.. you'll probably see ED's and stuff changing after something significant happens.. otherwise they would spoil future events

As for the insert song in this episode.. I haven't seen the ep.. but was it "Until" by Nakayama Arisa?

And the OP doesn't spoil future events? I suspect the only thing that the current OP doesn't spoil is the outcome of the final battle. And possibly the question of whom Our Heroes are fighting in the last battle.

The main thing was the insertion of Arthur's speech to that bard guy... The battle between the castle and Gaius itself is great, but just when you get fired up, it switches back to Arthur talking to the bard and made me want to skip to the continuation of the battle... And it was like that until the end... (-__-) The part in the first half with Arawn in his dreams and everyone working hard was... good, I guess. The song in the background helped. Deathkillz ~ You're dead ^__^* ~ Graphic Designer Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: uk, England Age: 34	ep 17 Spoiler: Some of the stuff that happened here was absolutely stupid but I'll avoid mentioning them for the sake of harmony. I had to laugh at how Gaius wielded Cloud's sword as if it was nothing to kill that spy but I can't say that this man is a bright spark either. His logic is screwed and if he wanted to start a revolution it would be way better to ally yourself with the current enemies rather than to crush them. Arwan is still sleeping like a baby (wake up and lay waste to the enemy already you so called demon lord!) and Arthur makes some new friends. All is well with this world That said, the fight was as enjoyable as it gets.
