why not? uruyu did a pretty good bit of damage to #8 even with the power reduction hax going against him. thats after just a short time training under ryuken, who is very likely stronger and most definitely knows more quincy tricks.

#8 was an espada only because of those abilities. Remember, he couldn't even get in when Nel was there. As far as power goes, he was the weakest.

Well, for one thing, unless he changed his name, they all know Ichigo's last name. I'd guess they would put 2 & 2 together and figure out Isshin was Ichigo's dad.

all of the espada were weaker in their flashbacks.
the overall difference in power of the espada over time was even directly brought up in nnoitra vs nel. he used to be 8, powered up to just 5, and was still stronger than the old 3 (she had to release just to get an advantage over him unreleased).

Quincy Final Form is the ultimate hax...but it also means to give up your powers.

More useful in a 1on1 since even if you win, you'll be helpless against any ancillaries.

lool, didn't aizen said something about how if you sacrifice everything and focus on one ability, you can beat even the strongest ability? Going by his logic, Uryuu should be able to kill aizen if he focus hard enough....................or even jinta for that matter....................

levels aside, uruyu was able to counter crotches (see what i did there?) shikai ability, which would leave most people totally buggered, as far as i can see.

speaking of shikai, how comes he didn't use it against szayel?

The statement was actually suppose to mean the opposite.

He said that to Yamamoto implying that because the old man focused focused mostly on developing the destructive powers of his zanpakuto (according to Aizen), Aizen was able to find a way to defeat him even though the old man was stronger.

I guess it's safe to say that Aizen prefers balanced fighters over those who specialize in any one particular thing.
