MKV to DVD burning software

The truth is I can't find any program worth a damn, and both nero and windows 7 picks and chooses which mkv it willl allow to burn and which ones it will let eff me to kingdom come...

Gimme something good, some brands...Anything that doesn't have me converting all my mkv's when I have to make DVD's for people in the normal pop culture world that have no clue what an MKV is and why I'm being a prick and not making them a DVD because I'm no waiting 8 hrs for crap-ridden windows DVD maker to stop while I'm sleeping overnight because it happens to hate this particular file for reasons unknown...Please no arrogant, snide remarks, just help^^...

Thanx in advance...

What you want is DeVeDe. (Windows version here.) Supports multiple audio and subtitle tracks. Also allows you to create simple menus. Writes an ISO image file that you can burn to disc with any DVD burning software. I created a disc recently with all eleven Bartender episodes; took at most a couple of hours to create the image file. (I have a quad-core, though, and I'm running Linux. YMMV.)

One issue DeVeDe has with Matroska files is its inability to correctly estimate the length of the resulting disc image. That's because MKVs don't include video bitrate information in their headers. I had to make a couple of test runs to see what the right bitrate should be. (The default in my version of DeVeDe is 5000, which is pretty high compared to most anime encodes. Some of [gg]'s recent encodes have pretty high bit rates, but they're in the 1800-2200 range, not 5000.) Once I set a reasonable bitrate manually, the size estimator worked fine.

HandBrake is pretty straight forward for converting to MP4, just don't forget to select the subtitle track, to tick "Burned in" and to click "Add".

Like the other person said-ConvertXtoDVD is pretty good, but I've gone way beyond converting fansubs to dvds. I simply use a PCH A210 with an internal 1 TB harddrive-it'll play almost anything on my tv with no conversion involved.
