the real mistake here from Oda is making Ussop look brave at the start of the Post Time Skip

I mean, wouldnt it be boring if all the strawhats are strong and courageous??

The scenario of Usopp running away and giving up, is a sign that Sogeking is about to take over.

Robin getting turned into a toy, has nothing to do with Usopp running away. Usopp was just being Usopp, when in doubt and scared.

"Nothing to do with Robin getting turned into a toy" is wrong. Can you imagine him saying "sorry Robin I will write a tale about you!"? Just imagine him thinking about how Luffy would react after what he did to get Robin back from Enies Lobby... you are severly underestimating Ussop forgetting Robin there.

I don't think that Oda made him look brave at all,especially his comment to Chopper or Nami,during the first chapters when he arrived,something along the lines of : "Sorry Chopper/Nami,I no longer belong to the weak trio".

Although it kind of contradicts the point of a time skip,he trained for 2 years with Heracles to get stronger after what happened in Sabaody and he came back,yet now he's running away....

I'm sure Oda knows what he's doing by making the readers hate Usopp. The more people dislike him the better his planned comeback as Sogeking will be.

Its only a matter of time that Ussop will join the battle. Also it's not like he would be able to do anything while Trebol is there. No matter how well he can shoot.

This is the one I think Oda made a huge mistake, I think it would have been better if Ussop is the only one who didnt trained for 2 years, since his sharp shooting skills is a top notch anyways... also his skills for plants are stupid...

I know Ussop's cowardness is very much likely to be hate.. but its for the sake of a great story telling, in every team there should be a character we should hate.. that every character has its own unique personality.

also its pretty obvious that Oda is building up Ussop's Dream to be a dramatic ending by making Ussop cowardly now... I have this guess that Ussop is the one who will die in the straw hats

knowing that trebol's slime/mucus/whatever it is... is combustible...

One shoot of fire/explosive to the exposed part of his body should be enough

He could easily just shot his slime at the incoming explosive. Like he did to that Bee and the fairy's. Hell his marksmanship could well beat Usopp's. Soo I can't see him face off Trebol. But maybe he will if he teams up with Robin. Once she is free.
