I really like the little bits of 'normal girl' of the main character when she breaks character.
Like when her eyes suddenly starts hurting, at first thought it was in character, but its actually because her contact started hurting. Then after the part where he hits her head the scale, I think she broke character then. Its just a really nice detail to try to notice while rewatching different scenes.

Ishihara is the best! Yea... when I was reading the comments on the ANNs site with the first preview, I thought wow, these people all got the wrong idea, this isn't a battle show at all, I mean every "delusion" sounded tongue in cheek and ended with a gag, there was absolutely no evidence that it was a battle show. I mean a battle show doesn't make fun of itself every chance it gets. I know enough Japanese to get me through the PV, but I think anyone experienced with watching this type of anime could tell just by listening to the tone and seeing the reactions that something was off. In other words, you people who are disappointed only have yourselves to blame!
This show is great, my favorite part of Haruhi was always the comedy and not so much the serious supernatural plot. When I got into moe anime, I was already thinking sort of like Yuuta, anti-chuuni after being all about that sort of thing. This anime seems great to me, and I'm wondering why it seems so great, impressive shows don't pop around very often, I think it must be that it can be funny and intelligent while charming the viewer and getting them to like the characters quickly... something like that. |

So.. uh.. ya.. I watched this episode three times (maybe four), does that mean I'm hooked? Nah...
The OP annoys me a bit, but there is some interesting scenes here and there. I really like how Rikka is aware of her act and regresses into her normal state when Yuuta punishes her (wait which is normal for her? ). I'm not sure what people were expecting when they checked out this show... How did some of them think this was going to be some sort of action flick? The synopsis even says it's a romantic comedy. BTW... why is there so many male characters with "Yuu" in their name lately? Oojima Yuuki, Yuuki Rito, Togashi Yuuta... I'm sure there's more... EDIT: Before I forget. Does anyone think that Shinka (light brunette with pink clip at the front of her hair) looks like that background character from K-On? I don't know if she has a name, she's in the same class as Yui. Looks like Yui in this one. I approve.
Anyway, it seems that so many people got fooled by the epic PV simply because we don't read Japanese. Oh well, it doesn't matter if they hated Ep 1 as long as it gains so many audience right? Quote:
On a more serious note (~50% serious), maybe he's a fan of Nagato Yuuki? But, all in all, I'm pretty sure it's something like an Author's Guilty Pleasure, just like how I love making stories about Time Travel. EDIT: I think I discovered something awesome (which I'm sure most of you already know...) wasn't ZAQ the same composer of Hidamari Sketch OP4?

Might as well use these. Thanks a ton guys!
though I was thinking of that scene because at the beginning of the sequence, Yuuta's sister seemed to bob her head in sync with the knocking

You know what, I find the ^description of chuunibyou here to be rather more restrictive then what has been my understanding of the term all this time, since I've been considering both Okabe Rintaro from Steins;Gate and my past self as Chuunibyou.

Are you guys trying to start a chuunibyou confession session? Let me join you then. Forget the past, these are some of the things I still do today.
- Dragging my toes on the ground pretending I'm about to dash. - Grabbed my left arm, sometimes with a Pringles tube on it, pretending I have a Rockbuster. - Riding my bicycle, when I grabed the Aero bars, mumbling to myself "Aero mode." When going off the road/path, "Rally mode." And when get back to normal position, "Circuit Mode." Then once in a while I will grab an imaginary boost lever with, of course, "Boost on." - The said bicycle, with three upgrades since I brought it, is named "v-Tikit TSW-0." Do I have to say what are the names of the first two models? Damn, now that I typed that out, it's really embarrassing, isn't it? I did all this when (hopefully) no one noticed though. So yeah, this show is really embarrassing to watch, but at the same time it is fun precisely because it remind me of why I still doing those. Last edited by Hyper; 2012-10-05 at 01:14. |

"Hey mister, I am mad scientist! It's so coool! Sonuvabitch." Back to chuni2byo confession time. (If ever this gets a sub-forum, we should put a chu2byo confession thread. ) ...so yeah, back to the days when yugioh was the trend and I was practically saying aloud my next move, just because it was stellar. Those were the days...

Chuunibyou actually has subcategories. I think it's probably already mentioned somewhere that middle school kids who start drinking black coffee, or listening to western pop, etc. etc. all fall under Chuunis. So yes, Chuunibyou covers a wider scope; just that the Chuunis in this series are classified as the "evil eye category". Okabe will be considered under DQN category. For the series that have aired to date, Kobato from Haganai and Kuroneko from Oreimo will fall under the "evil eye category".
