Pencil is good, and if you sharp it the right way, it can work on some very difficult spots where Gundam Marker usually can't reach. The minus is, the lining made from pencil isn't flat. It will look shiny when hits by light. Not to mention it can be accidentally erased/rubbed off by your own fingers if you use it on some exposed areas where your fingers usually touch. Maybe some flat coating after the pencil will solve the problem.

I know, from the unboxing video at HLJ it takes up at least two MG FA Unicorn boxes put together.. Mine is probably in customs in Vancouver by now. Monday or Tuesday I'll probably get it..

Depends on what scale you prefer, both are good kits. But I have to admit that the 1/100 is superior in terms of details, accessories, and the overall built of the kit. I have HG 1/144 Tieren Taozi and the hip section likes to come off. The crotch is also not that great imo. So there's that.

Did you end up getting the Tieren or Gaplant?
Regarding Gaplant, I personally feel that if you had to choose between Gaplant and Hrairoo, Hrairoo is a better choice although it's always recommended to have both But if it's between a Tieren and Gaplant, hell, I'd say go for the Gaplant despite it being outdated and all. Something about Tieren looks squat and clunky *Gets pummeled by Tieren's fans* Anyway, I've completed a kit or two, the HG G-Bouncer and the RG GP01. I know there aren't many fans of the Gundam AGE anime but the kits are quite good in my opinion and the G-Bouncer is an example of that. It's a marvelous piece that looks simple but actually has a lot going on, like the flaps gimmick on its backpack, the shield and beam combo, those sexy legs *I did not and will not get a Gundam Spallow* and the fact that most seamlines are cleverly hidden or disguised as panel lines. The RG GP01 on the other hand, continues to carry the signature feature of being well-detailed and good-looking. I like the small features like the latching claw at the base of the foot, core fighter and fixed hand for carrying the shield. I'm hoping to see more reviews of RG Strike Freedom and hopefully, for HGUC Victory and F91 Harrison. |

It's Hraairo actually, I don't like the mass produced Gaplant that much. I think I'll hold and see if the shop bring more selection (there's a Xekueins as well, dayum)
I just want a bigger kit that's not gundam HG AGE is indeed awesome because it use the latest construction technology before the new line is created, building them are rather easy and fast, and if you have sufficiently good technique, adding the details to already decent unit. (plus they're dirt cheap and abundant)

the HG age kits are damn great, I only have a few myself but you can tell none of them are outright bad.
Those kits, parts of Gen2 and the Age3 Orbital's design almost made that wreck of a show worth it. I recently redid my 1/100 Vent Saviour, I can't paint large surfaces for a while so I did touchups with markers, panel liners and spare decals and Its fun to look back that even these OoB builds are much much better then what I used to make and look good like this. It's a very solid fun model with plenty spaces to add in colors, easily maskable areas and a solid build. |
