Never.
I didn't say they were. I'm just saying everyone but CB and Katheron pretty much stopped using them once the shiny beam weapons came around. The Vagan look to be the same way.

Well, they still serve some purpose since Dorado Ls use them. In the end, I'd favor missile spam over beam spam.

Well, the Dorado L is the commander version of the regular Dorado. That usually implies a greater degree of piloting skill, so I guess the Vagan don't think grunts can fire missiles properly. Custom units like the Zeydra and Khronos not having missiles makes sense, given that they're, you know, custom.

So, I don't know if any of you knew this.

But Sid, in the manga Memories of Sid...

Is a giant mobile armor fortress monstrosity guarding data from the old wars.

Interesting. It seems the model kit has revealed something about the AGE-3:

So in addition to storing its beam sabers, the forearm guards themselves are beam sabers as well!

We still don't know if that's an official feature, or just wishful thinking on part of the modeler though (must point out that that modeler is the only one who's done for for the AGE-3 as of now). It does look awesome though.

If you look at other pictures of the HG AGE-3, it does have slits on the forearm guards. Hopefully the Orbital shares this feature as well, given that it uses the same forearm guards.

I'm waiting if it will be featured in the gunpla box or manual or any promo art, even though that doesn't ensure they'll feature it in the show. Incase, the Age-3 OS probably needs to prevent the deployment of the right arm guard beam saber when a Sigmasis rifle is equiped.

calubin posted a short translation of the MG Spallow manual from AGEs and I'm just cross posting it here.

That's... Awkward.

So does the tail serve as some sort of melee sword or something? Doesn't look like it has a rifle barrel like the Gafran/Baqto/Dorado.

It does seem to have a pointed tip. I wouldn't be surprised if it is a melee weapon.

I realized the reason why Kio sucks as of this moment is because unlike flit and asemu, he doesn't have a badass ally named woolf!

It doesn't really look like a penis to me, though it is slightly pointy and strategically positioned.

When it tries it's best to stand in that angle and pose, yes it is. Now things like the the BFG for AGE-3 makes more sense.

Those Clanches are so so screwed. At least on Earth, Danazine doesn't seem like it's the type to do well in space. In space Dorado's are gonna get them instead, before AGE-3 kills all the Dorados.
