just the first 3. Does that mean I can't get the one I need, the one which is Right after second raid?

DVMC and COMO have been translated in English but they are not available anymore. It's probably still possible to find them but I don't know where.

If you want spoiler for the 3 others novel this thread -> http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=33290 has everything you need/want to know. This post will help you greatly -> http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost...31&postcount=7

Probably because they were liscenced and most translators now just have to wait till "i don't know who liscenced them" tranlates the novels for them.

But here in latin America we don't have anyone translating them!!

Why did i have to learn english and not japanese! :P

by the way in case anyones intrested, i Emailed Kyoto Animation about a FMP New anime a few days ago and got a response today. They said they haven't got any news yet but if people mailed them with intrest it would take a step in the right direction. they also said the reason why they haven't done another is they are busy with more popular anime.

What, so they actually admitted that they aren't doing it because Haruhi and the Key-adaptions are more popular? Well, I still say that the lack of a proper ending-point is at least PART of the reason why they haven't made another series, but I suppose they DO have a lot of other things to do as well. (Haruhi season 2, Clannad After Story, the Lucky Star OVA, Little Busters, possibly Planetarian and so on...)

Novel 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 12, 15, 17, 19, 20 make the main story line.
1, 3, 6 have been animated as FMP!.
8, 9 have been animated as FMP! The Second Raid.
12, 15, 17, 19, 20 hasn't been animated.

All the others novel are short stories and are not part of the main story line.

But you should read the other thread in the Full Metal Panic subforum, because the response are all here. For example in this thread -> http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=26478

One information who is important to realize why Kyoto Animation prefer to work on other project instead of FMP :

Full Metal Panic!? Fumoffu ~ 8,601 DVD
Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid ~ 4,833 DVD

And the comparison with their other work :

Air ~ 23,761 DVD
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu ~ 41,039 DVD
Kanon (2006) ~ 18,399 DVD
CLANNAD ~ 23,401DVD
Lucky☆Star ~ 28,997 DVD

It's the average sale per DVD.
The first series done by Gonzo has an average of 4,264.

does that mean 2,4,5,7,10,11,13,14,16,18 are short stories and have nothing to do with the main story

Yes, but novel 18 could be considered a part of the main story line because 2 of the 3 stories are related to the past of Kalinin (Sousuke) and Mardukas (Tessa).

PS : Subzero you don't have to send me a PM each time you respond to one of my post.

Those others show are way more popular than FMP, there is absolutely no comparison.

It's important to take into account that in the same style (real robot) you can find series that are able to sold 30,000 DVD like nothing (Code Geass and Gundam are both Real Robot anime). FMP is simply an average DVD seller.

Right now I think that Kyoto Animation could wait for the novel to finish, and I can't see a single reason for them to start a new FMP. Right now losing the fan of Haruhi would be very bad for the studio way more than losing the FMP fan.

I think the issue was that Haruhi is much, much more popular than FMP, as are several other series. Because of that, Kyoto would be idiots to ignore those more successful franchises to spend time on FMP right now.

What FMP needs is a good sticky song or somekind of outfit so that it could reach the masses through merchandising! XD
