Well, here goes. Btw I take it back, the 2nd half of the chapter was wordswordswords and I'm going to give myself a break before I even look at it again.

Which still leaves you the first half.

After reading chapter 1, i have to say, the Empire deserves being invaded by the JSDF. Not only what they did at Ginza was horrible, they are very proud and arrogant people who think they can beat anyone and conquer the "barbarians". So arrogant that they still sent more troops including those from their vassal states despite losing a sixth of their main forces from trying to reclaim the Gate.

I have to had it to the JDSF. Despite being outnumbered, they still kept their cool when the Empire tried a night raid before decimating them with tanks, mortars and machine guns.

Hopefully, the next chapter will be scanlated soon.

Hm, can't say I'm too sure about which way to look at it. On the one hand they did arrogantly set through the Gate expecting a cake walk and new lands to subjugate/plunder, but now that they've gotten their ass handed to them and are utterly outmatched they seem totally lost and willing pull out, if not for the fact that it's now them with an invasion force on their doorstep.

Doesn't stop me going "fk yeah" every time I see MGs blazing and arty crashing down on their heads though (those that make me a bad person?..)

Hi. I was starting a scanlation of this manga on another forum when I was told there was someone already doing it here. I had already done a preview/test scanlation of chapter 8 based on a mostly complete translation I found on the other forum and the jpgs I had extracted from the page (so no messing around with screencaps). I'll admit it was a half-assed attempt, just to get the job done quickly, so it didn't look great. I'm not a native English speaker and understand the bare minimum of Japanese, but if you need a hand with photoshop (actually GIMP, but it's mostly the same) just let me know.

Hey there, thanks for the heads up!

Well to be honest, my main problem at the moment is translating- despite being "Chinese" my character recognition is crap as it is, and with this being a more mature manga the writer loves throwing out complicated phrases and kanji which I am forced to look up, *manually* since it's not txt, slowing TL speed to an absolute crawl (almost 5-10 min a bubble sometimes..)

otoh if you're able to, having someone else clean/redraw/typeset etc would save me that time for slogging through the TL instead. Slowly. But hey.

I'd think most normal people, after losing a hundred thousand soldiers to weapons they can't understand would start sending guys over with white flags to parley.

I like how the Japanese government is talking about "arresting" the "ringleaders" as if they were criminals and terrorists instead of heads-of-state. Nothing says overmatched like a nation that considers yours to be mere bandits and thugs.

Is that a complete chapter? The last page end seems kind of abrupt to me.

And are there downloadable raws or a raw provider?

The manga is viewable online here, and if you look in the page source you'll find a link to the raw images, which is what I did to get them. The quality is not *great*, but it's enough.

And yes, the first chapter ends abruptly like that.
