I'd still like to figure out what the symbols on those jewels are.

Maso?

I think he worked so much in his life that he's used to it.

I'm glad it's gaining its old charm back.

Wouldn't it be simpler for him to just go and kill an animal somewhere and grill it in the garden or something? I'm sure if he went into a forest (or even the neighborhood park), with his luck, he'd get attacked by a wild bear. Bear yakiniku. Fancy.

Last bear that attacked him nearly killed him. If I recall, it was only through Isumi's wards and purification or whatever that it stopped attacking them.

Isn't 100 yen per gram of meat still expensive?

Well, yeah, it wouldn't be an easy fight because that's how his luck works. But his luck with money is worse. (Plus, I'm pretty sure he still had a couple of transformations available. He'd have been fine!)

100 yen isn't much, but then again so is 1 gram.

So yeah, the turn-out is still kinda bad.

Usually one share is around 200~300 grams, so that would be 20,000~30,000 per share. It's not that expensive if it's the best-quality beef. I used to eat such Hanwoo (beef made from indigenous Korean cattle) on special occasions.

BTW, why the question?

Hayate said he was planning on begging/haggling a cheap yakuniku restaurant for beef priced at 100 yen per gram... well, before he dug himself into a hole by raising everyone's expectations even further.

I was wondering whether that's really cheap or not.

Personally, I would have to see the original Japanese to check. As I remember, the most expensive dish in Jojoen's Kabukicho branch was 4,500 yen per dish (special galbi), so 100 yen per gram doesn't make sense. For comparison, the Korean restaurant I mentioned above (Budnamujip) was 50,000 won per dish of galbi, at 250 grams, and that was actually one of the cheaper dishes, with deungshim (sirloin) and anchangsal (outside skirt steak) both going at 60,000 won per 130 grams.

Wait, wait, that's like 200 or 300 US dollars for a steak?

Oh, boy, you are one RICH ojou-sama.

Well, this is how I usually ate:

Bowl of rice (1,500 won)
Doenjang Jjigae (6,000 won)
Three orders of deungshim (180,000 won, 480 grams)
Bibim Naengmyeon (9,000 won)
10% VAT

Total: 216,150 won ($193 by current exchange rates)

BTW, the side dishes are killers. Pepper sauce crabs, pumpkin pudding, at least five kinds of leaf vegetables, four kinds of kimchis, etc. etc. All for free, including refills.

Meanwhile, in Jujuen, a small plate of kimchi is 1,000 yen. One reason why I always enjoyed eating in Korea.

I had tried the really good quality Yakinku once in recent memory.

The moment I put one of those bad boys in my mouth I started giggling.

... Yeah it's that good, but at those prices you might as well use your own body's meat... >.>

All of this trouble after exams are over while we're still not sure whether Hayate even passed his exams.

Fukou da-- oh wait, wrong series.

Honestly, I think it fits Hayate a bit more.
