"TVアニメ「進撃の巨人」第1~13話総集編&第14話先行上映会" in the pre-air screening event they are going to screen both the ep1~13 recap episode AND episode 14. Therefore it's possible that the recap ep is not part of the 25 episodes The recap episode will still air on the 6th of July.

Mikasa definitely is the bravest one of them all.
Armin is not far behind. I still don't get why Eren-titan went crazy. Looks like he's doesn't have the control over his powers. That city is in serious trouble. Situation is getting out of hand.

For what it is worth though, I really think the pacing complaints for this particular episode are little overblown. On its own it's pretty decent, I think the sluggish movement of last 2-3 episode are affecting the perception of this week's airing more than episode itself. That said, looks like next week we coming to the climax of this arc, so hopefully the payoff will be good for those who were not satisfied with the previous weeks. Quote:

I figured it had to happen some time both for budget purposes and just because of how hard it is to keep up but the excitement factor for Attack on Titan has definitely died down a little in the last few weeks and seemingly for the time being. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come and just a lull cause with Valvrave ending and the way next season is shaping up there isn't going to be much of a substitute in the over the top awesomeness department.

Think the reason I'm not fussed about this slow pace is because I know that they only have 25 episodes and they have to anime a certain action scene. With 12 episodes for the second arc it's gonna be as hectic and exciting as ***

Man, I don’t know why, but I’m a bit pissed off by this episode. Maybe because it feels even more draggy than the previous episode with Eren took his sweet time hallucinating, and how they keep repeating “This mission has failed!” & “Our friends died for nothing!” throughout this episode. For heaven’s sake, we get it already! Even Rico’s speech still feels more tolerable than all those “This mission is kaput!!” we get in this episode. The action is decent, but the animation is mediocre it’s not even as good as “Eren’s Spiderman scene” in the previous episode.

Speaking as anime only viewer myself, even with it's pacing problems I still quite like the show overall, so I'm here for the long haul unless something really stupid happens. I don't think I or most viewers have issues with the show's content rather than iffy production surrounding it, especially in the light of how episodes 1-9 were nearly flawless execution wise. Hopefully next week will tie everything together and begin the second half with a fresh start and better momentum.

Nah, SAO was entirely riddle with issues from early on that got worse and most of that had to do with source material instead of pacing problems from the studio. |

The slow pace is starting to tick me off as well. This was already one of the weakest chapter of the manga and they managed to make it even worse by extending it with Jean filler. That was pretty bad. These past few weeks have killed my excitement for the series (being a manga reader doesn't help of course)

I liked some things this episode accomplished character-wise, even if the slow-down these last few eps irritates the hell outta me.
For one thing Eren's motivation and priorities are now crystal clear - on the surface, he really only lives for killing titans. But his deepest motivation is his innate conviction that he deserves to be free. That's what his wish to travel the world and his objection that humans are living within the walls like cattle are all about, it's not just curiosity. I had thought perhaps his quest for revenge had eclipsed all that, but apparently not. So Eren's driven by his sense of self-worth. Which is funny, since Mikasa's also driven by her sense of Eren's worth (to her). Mikasa can only be a reactive character, since while she has Eren she has everything she wants and she's satisfied. She'll address threats to Eren, and that's it. |
