I wish touma awaken and become the La Persona Superiore a Dio so he become a god or something close to it. Then he can defeat aleister, aiwass and everyone who is in his side.

I hope he doesn't as that would defeat the 'stuggle' against foes quality of the series and would easily push the power creep effect past the line of no return (it's teeters on it constantly as is).

Here's the problem I see- should Aleister be defeated or remove from power, Academy City wouldn't last long without him and would soon collapse along with the 2 million lives living in it.

So you are saying that there isn't anyone in academy city who can be the leader of the city. Aleister isn't going to be the leader forever or at least I wish he isn't or else I would be piss. In different anime & other media works, the leader is just but a pawn. I now this isn't the case. Heaven Canceler can help if a new leader should rise by giving him/her advices. Maybe it would be difficult finding a replacement but not impossible.

The main reason of the Vol.15 was to kill Aleister and take his place as the General Superintendant.

IMHO, if Accelerator grows enough as a person even he should be able to replace Aleister and then be able to change the politics of A.C which always are messing with the people he cares.

Accelerator doesn't strike me as a leader type (he's more of a knight in my eyes), though that is an appealing idea...

How dependant is the city, as it is at the moment, on him?

Isn't it capable of functioning without him?

I can't imagine Aleister having much to do with the day-to-day affairs of Academy City. That's what the Board of Directors is for.
