Wargaming has announced that they have given important war bonds to the cause.
http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/1020241.html That makes the third series that has a link with the gaming firm after Girls und Panzer and Arpeggio of Blue Steel. EDIT: Make that fourth since WoWS is also tying up with Haifuri. Holy shit.

Episode 1:
It was good overall imo. I mean, they introduced the main characters well and the alternate historical setting (around WWII) with war themes that was believable. The music is well crafted and Fine seems like a mature woman. She also seems like the type that isn't afraid to take risks. I wonder how the war will develop from here and the connection of witchcraft may also play an important role in the show. Music is fairly impressive with the OST as well. Also, girl riding a flying gun...spotted!

The start was good, introducing the characters and the world setting focused on the war.
Everything was going right until the attack on the plane where Fine was hurt and the flying girl finally was released from that chamber, then the strong yuri feelings appeared. Not only that, the ending itself is literal yuribait so after this first episode I know what's coming next on this. |

Very strong first episode. Very engaging and just the right amount of intensity. The audiovisuals are good, and the first episode very accurately conveyed WWII-era Europe to me.
Fine reminds me a lot of Fate/Stay Night's Saber, and that's a good thing. Izetta's introductory/action scene was lots of fun and really nice. I like Izetta's character design. All told, a very promising start!

Don't know what to think about this one just yet. I hope next episode will focus more on the witch than the princess though. Not that I dislike the princess, but I got interested in the show because of the witch, so this episode was kinda disappointing.
