Anyone notice that the order of elimination since the 1st bout seems to be from weakest to strongest (if you exclude Megishima in the order)?

1st bout: Nene, Julio, Shouko
2nd bout: Mimasaka, Kuga, Megishima
3rd bout: Eizan, Megumi, Saitou

Gohan also lost every fight until the Cell Games iirc. The difference between him and Yamacha is that Yamacha got assblasted every fight once Saiyans became a thing where as Gohan can a least put up a fight. It's a similar story with Megumi.

If anything Yamacha is Ikumi or one of the other Polar Dorm members.

Enough with the senseless DB comparisons, there's no way I can take your posts seriously if that's all you can provide for argument.

I haven't read the chapter yet (if it's scanlated already), but I'll say this here first: Megumi lost, but like the guy who made the last post on the last page said, we still shouldn't downplay her growth here completely. Momo also acknowledged her and doesn't think she's inferior to her. It was also a really close match from what I read in this thread. So cut Megumi some slack here.

It was either going to end this way (close match with Momo acknowledging Megumi in the end) or with Megumi's victory. I would have preferred the latter, but it is what it is.

Who do you think will participate in the next round? Isshiki and Erina are a given, but I wonder who the third member will be. Souma again? Or will Takumi be used as a sacrificial pawn like Kuga?

My guess for the match-ups would be:

Isshiki vs Tsukasa
Takumi vs Rindou
Erina vs Momo

And for the finals I'm hoping for:

Erina vs Tsukasa
Souma vs Rindou

Some people in this thread cannot comprehend the grand magnitude of what has Megumi achieved.

A first year with no knowledge of the traditions of what Azami envisions as his ideal form of cooking was able to score one vote when the odds of the match were all against her, and gained the respect of Momo, something not even Eizan or other members of her faction can boast about.

It's a step forward in Megumi's cooking career, a moral victory, and a huge middle finger to Central teachings.

Yes, this is how I think is going to follow up, too. Soma will be too burned out to keep going, and even if he insists on participating, Erina is not going to let him.

Isshiki is going to put Tsukasa through hell, and Takumi while no match for Rindou will make good use of his tracking to expose the flaws in her cooking. Erina will probably crush Momo almost efortessly.

Yeah, I agree completely here. Well, almost, since I'm not sure who's going to participate in the next round. Yours and Knighto's take on it seems likely, though, so let's go with that for now.

I also agree with Knighto, especially here:

With this, Megumi has shown that she has potential. The fact that Momo acknowledged her and also doesn't think of her has being inferior to her says a lot. It was a really close match and the judges even had a hard time deciding who should win, which also shows that Megumi and Momo were almost even. Megumi lost 1-2. It was really close. You guys see where I'm coming from here?

I can agree to these match-ups with Erina losing to Tsukasa in the semi-finals coz let's face it, Souma and Eishi rematch needs to happen.

If Rindou's the true strongest, then Souma needs to be the one to beat her because he's the main character.

When they revealed that Momo has a habit of calling people she doesn't respect a nickname, I predicted that Megumi would lose but earn her respect. I would have preferred if she won, but oh well.
