The title of this thread should be changed to Penguin Musume ♥ Heart (ペンギン娘♥はぁと) since that's the title of the anime.

Any information about number of ONAs/lenght?

Or is there a chance that this ONA is to be intended only as a "prologue" to a full tv series (when they made the announce thay didn't speak about ONAs, isn't it?)?

According to ANN, the series is slated to run 22 episodes, 7 minutes an episode. That was more than I was hoping for.

Yeah that's really not bad.

I'm quite hopeful for this in terms of comedy - after browsing through I've noticed that the director did some of the funniest episodes of Cardcaptor Sakura, as well as the female-led comedy series Zettai Seigi Love Pheromone, and Ninin Ga Shinobuden (maybe better known as 2x2=Shinobuden).

Judging that and the source material, I'm expecting this to be weird, crude and cute all at the same time.

I'd read the raw version of the manga (someone please pm me a link to a translated version), and it seems quite funny. A lot of action, comedy, and an openly-gay (and far buster) version of Lucky Star's Konata. It is a shame every episode only lasts 7 minutes, but I doubt they could stretch it any longer.

I think it will work better as 7 minutes, personally I think LS would've worked better as a 7 minute show but that's just me.

22 7-minute episodes sounds pretty easy to handle to me. Plus it's online, so no waiting for encodes or the such. I like the business model they've got going.

Appears that estimate was slightly off.

Speaking of which, comments below. Spoiler for Episode 1: Clocking in at about 14 minutes, it looks rather...interesting. As I said previously, the internet-based distribution they've got going on is a good idea, and the show itself looks fun. The OP and ED are usual stuff, both done in a flash movie style and sung by the main seiyuu cast. 6 of the girls for the OP, four for the ED. Sakura is delusional, but fun delusional. I also spotted a few references here and there during the episode - a Precure takeoff, a pretty overt Kamen Rider reference, etc. Also plentiful fanservice. Not Kanokon level, but still plentiful. Given the ease of access and half-length running time, I'll stick with it. Also, saw a promo for the show on TT, so it looks like someone will be subbing this.
