Hello all I searched All forum i dont find so

What video converter do you recomend guys Becose i need To conver mkv. to avi Wich converter is the best

When you talk about taking some media from one file format to other it is calling remuxing. You don't actually convert the video or the audio, you just demultiplex it (extract the video and the audio from the file) and multiplex it (puts audio and video on a single file efficiently) on a different way.

I don't see any reason why you should re-mux things to avi, since mkv is a better container on almost every aspect.

On linux, you can just use "ffmpeg -i file.mkv file.avi" on the console to re-mux the file. On windows... you can try AVIMux GUI. I can't explain how to use it, tough.

See 6th link - SOFTWARE-REQUESTS AND SUGGESTIONS. There's at least 4-5 posts mentioning programs like mencoder, alltoavi, virtualdubmod.

Hardware compatibility (DVD players, consoles etc), I guess. But then remuxing it will most likely not be an option since MKV usually contains H264 video, and AVI-H264 is just as useless as MKV-anything when it comes to hardware compatibility (not to mention all the additional ugly hacks).
