Mikoto wasn't really calling him weak, and you seem to have misunderstood that quote. She was pointing out that Touma hadn't realized the state his body was in after suffering heat stroke and how she already did everything she could at the moment to improve his condition but it wasn't enough. Remember when he gets to Tokiwadai, he can't even walk by himself. That is her initial reason. That was to support him.

Okay, I finally finished reading this volume. I shall give my full personal review. I guess this is the first time that I am doing reviews on Animesuki.

Spoiler for Illustrations reviews (6.5/10):

It was okay for me. It wasn't excellent or bad.

My personal thought for the illustration overall. The element design is the one that stands out the most. I just wish that there are 100 metres Element model to be on Haimura's site. The most funniest is, of course, Touma princess carrying Kuroko. I had a good laugh reading other people's reaction comment on Facebook, Animesuki & 4chan.

Index design is getting cuter. I am not a fan of her, but I feel that she is getting mature as the time goes by. If not, this is just me because we rarely see her appearance. Well, she is useful with her perfect memory in the Element apocalypse by helping out lessen the burden for the Kamijou's classmate in dealing with the heat.

As for Othinus, there is nothing much change but her interaction with Sphinx is adorable as well to show her care to the cat though it chases her around the house like Tom & Jerry.

Fran's character design is okay for me. I expect her to have a UFO spaceship instead of the balloon, really itself for the design to float around.

Illustration for Misaki & Touma is excellent. It shows us the tragic moment for both of them. I think that it just brings out the emotion for those people who like these two as a pairing. Poor Misaki, Touma doesn't remember her again. It's not even friendzoned, it's some next level shit. It's straight up whothefuckareyouagainzoned. Well anyway, her interaction with him was great. I had a splendid laugh when she talked about her breast to him. Poor Touma, you are cursing your past self. I wonder what is his reaction if he even gets his memory back.

Mikoto with A.A.A on the sky is quite dull to me for the illustration. I was expecting to have illustration her A.A.A fighting with the 100 metres Elements kaiju which will stand out for those viewers who don't read the light novel. But, I guess that it is fine if it is too much for Haimura & Kasai Shin-san.

That illustration of Kamis with the gangs & the Kihara's AAA is my third favourite beside the Element & Kuroko princess carry. It brings out the hype for the battle for the last chapter. Kihara's AAA design is quite nasty with the weaponry at her back. I like it.

WOW the digital ver of NT16 is out today but Heavy Object Vol come out a day later when it was release......o.o.....does some one know how the digital novel release work? cause i think this happen with NT15 when was release a month later after it was release physically

Hi guys, long time no see!

Anyways, I loved the volume a lot, flaws here and there but that's what makes the story interesting, you can have multiple PoV's and imo they can be correct.
Never gave two shits about kamisato in the least, but I at least gains some manor of Respect for him now that he is just a *powerless highschooler*. ;P

I think the OOCness of Touma is only because of how sudden it is compared to all the other times we see his thoughts of Misaka. He worries about everybody but since the warning he is being a little more observant, which I think needs to step up even more in general for him.

Misaki oh Misaki, it truly is a tragedy and I have hopes that it'll get better soon, So hang in their girl. <3

OMG I love Yuuitsu, she's certainly revenge motivated but I don't get the Sasuke vibe so I don't mind it too much. I'm hoping Touma will Knock her Illusions/reality the fuck up.

I do want to see more of them intereracting. Here's to Yuuitsu joining the Harem!

P.S. Am I the only one who found her exceedingly sexy in her A.A.A. Illustraion?

So reread the volume in its entirety again and I must say a certain someone looks a bit brighter in my eyes. But not so much that I will still shed tears over him and more so if he comes back. If he does I want the Magic Gods to return on a rampage.

Especially the High Priest.

I like that guy, he had a great photographic face.

Nope,you aren't the only one. I find Yuiitsu sexy as well with her A.A.A illustration.

But,High Priest was destroyed by A.A.A instead of being erased by WR. So,he is totally dead for sure unlike Niang Niang & other magic gods being erased by Kamisato.

I don't think High Priest is coming back because he get kill by the AAA that had Crowley Will in it and already double weaked by both Zombie and Crowley but then again Crowley have not bet every good at killing people he is trying to kill.

I will not mind either way if High Preist stay dead or not.

i would mind actually,
he is OP, and his personality doesnt seem like one who would work with anyone really well, so if he comes back it will mostlikely be as a villian again but kamachi has a terrible record for "reusing peolpe as villians",
the only other one i can remember is kakine (scavangers and ITEM to some extend but they got the same treatment), the villian isnt nerfed, he is actually powered up but than they turn into worf chars and only serve for the purpose of showing how overpowered the next enemy is...
so if HP comes back i fear that he will end like kakine

I'm going to reread this volume in a few days, and then give a serious review. This volume I definitely didn't read properly the first time I read it. Most kamijou fans have been super excited by bit so I feel like I've been missing something lol. I wasn't particularly impressed by it, but I feel like I wasn't reading nearly carefully enough. I liked the volume, but didn't find it comparable to NT 9 or OT 22, so will be an interesting reread I think. I'll probably also read NT 14-15 first for context. Maybe.

To be honest, I don't know how to feel about Touma's recent character development. I've noticed him mellow out after NT 9, but that was expected. He'd seen what the world is actually like. I don't know if him moving back to his old ways is progressive or just regressive... Like, is it naive and childish for him to throw off what he has learned after "seeing a darker side of the world," is he yearning to go back to his old style of doing things and so he is just convincing himself that he can do it and ignore what has already happened? Or is he actually trying to move on and recover his old style in spite of everything that has happened after realizing he doesn't feel comfortable with how things currently stand? I need to read the volume again, but im unsure as to what he's actually doing.

I think Touma is character who can fulfill his role ONLY by not having development. He is supposed be immovable object that can support whole universe. The etalon. He had some minor swings, but on the end of day he is still indiscriminate saviour of girls.

Well I just hop that eventually getting girlfriend is in acceptable margin of error.

Lol, while I realize that partially, I'm still curious if he's heading in some other direction as well, or at least if he manages to get some more sophisticated ideals/outlook on the world even when he returns to his old way of doing things. I mean, I don't mind him being an idealist. That's why I like him, lol.

The first fight with the Element is not that fantastic. I am expecting Touma to do better than this. I guess that he is not acting like himself. Poor Hamazura, you are experiencing "Fukouda!!!" Spoiler for Chapter 1 Review: Part 1 (1/10) Nothing much for me. Part 2 (10/10) I already my comment about it in the illustration review. Index is being useful. Interactions of the characters are great in this part with Othinus, Aogami, Touma, Fukiyose, Othinus & Sphinx. Part 3 (20/10) Kumokawa interaction with Touma 's too good. I have an extreme erotic imagination scenario while reading. I have many things to say. If I do that, makes this review very long. The aftermath of this part, I imagine them having *. It may sound a bit extreme for some of you guys. This is my honest thought. Part 4 (4/10) There is nothing much for me to say. The Element battle is not very catchy to me. There is nothing special. Mikoto's appearance just caught my attention while reading this part with the illustration. Between the Lines 2 (9.7/10) Fräulein Kreutune & Kakine appearance just bring the smile to my face that she reminds me when I enjoy one of my favourite volume of NT which it is the Ichihanaran Festival Arc. I am glad that they are still doing well while fighting the Elements in this apocalypse event. Spoiler** for Chapter 2 Review(9/10):: The starting scenario is just the set up for the part 2 for Touma to go to Mikoto's school. The interaction is fresh between them. Tokiwadai girls interactions are amusing when they meet this "gentlemen" at the start. I already talk about Misaki & Touma in my illustration review. Poor girl. She tried her best just for him but can't do much about it. I can feel the love but yet tragic because of the missing memories. Interesting stuff about the girls trying to learn about the Elements by dissecting, disassemble & stuff. I am pretty amazed that middle school girls can able to do this kind of advanced stuff. It must be the Academy City system education. You know, the city is 30 years ahead of the world. I am not sure, but girl's action is impressive for me for this part. Setting up preparation for the Crystal Tower battle is good. I give 10/10 for this one. Part 6 of Chapter 2 is the best comedy moment. Tokiwadai girls attempt to interact with Touma are fascinating to read. Shirai & Touma interaction is the best comedy & hilarious for NT 16. I had a stomach ache laughing while reading this part. I rate this 50/10. Mikoto's reaction is priceless & expected. Part 7 - 9 of Chapter 2 is not bad as well for the battle set up overall. Class 6 kaiju surprised me. It was very intense reading when Touma takes on the monster many times of his size. So, the rating is 9.7 for this parts altogether. Between the Lines 3 (8.4/10) Interesting stuff about Yuiitsu's preparation for her part Spoiler for Chapter 3 Review (7/10):: Part 1-5 (5/10) It was okay. This is what got me start slowly reading the novel of this volume. I am not sure. I don't feel the excitement. It is pretty much plain. Kamisato's battle with the Kaiju is unrealistic in my imagination. I believe that it can do better than this. I know Kamachi is trying set a stage for him. I think that it just my lacking of knowledge to able to imagine the scenario of the battle. Don't mind me about this. Part 6 & Between the Lines 4 (10/10) Kamisato's harem battle is a very refreshing sight to read. I can image a better scenario than Kamisato taking on the 100 metres beast. I find this part is absorbing as we can find more stuff about Kamisato's inner thought & reasoning. Plus, the excellent foreshadowing for the next part of chapter 4 of this volume & the next volume. Spoiler for Chapter 4 & Epilogue Review (10/10): Kihara vs. Touma, Kamisato & the Kamisato's girls! I like the battle. The reason that I never give 10/10 for this review. It's because Touma doesn't act like himself. But, I am glad that he is back in action at the end of this volume. The determination & resolve is there for the character development. I like Kamisato sacrifice himself to save everyone from the danger plot by Yuiitsu. His moment shows us the badass side of him. His words ignite the classic heroic TouMAN that we know. Hell yeah! Touma is going save this boy's ass! Yahoo! Plus, we rarely see Touma saving a guy. So, this is very new since he always protects his harem filled with girls most of the times. Kamachi always have a habit of writing the best for the last. Overall of this entire volume: I give this 8/10 Do forgive my first long review.
