Yes, so I guess that means there's another Eureka we have yet to meet. If Truth is the penultimate Secret (I only say that because of his difficulty to kill as opposed to all the other ones) then what the heck do we have in store for the next 13 episodes?

Lol at Eureka's answer. Just like a woman to put down her man like that and still say she loves him. Poor Renton, I feel for him though it true he was childish for quite a while but he grew out of it. Growing up was a large part of the original.

I wonder if, at the end of the show, will AO be taken into the future to live with his parents or will he stay in the past?

They don't come from that universe's future but from another universe.

It just so happens Eureka can travel in different points of time in the AO universe via Scub bursts.

Wow, great episode. I'm surprised they decided to clear up so much, so quickly. Hopefully this means that as they get the main mysteries out of the way in these few episodes, we'll move towards understanding what the real situation is and what the "real threat" is for this series.

Spoiler for Real spoilers!:

- I really liked the scenes at the first part of the episode between Eureka and Ao. Lots of great character animation moments. Having Yoshida back on board as an animation director is great news too.

- So this episode confirms two things. A) There is some sort of time loop going on in this world, but whether it is actually time travel in the real sense remains to be seen. I guess it doesn't matter for the characters of this world though, since to them, it is definitely time travel. B) Truth is the human form, or some sort of remains of the Secret which Eureka fought 10 years ago. Curiously enough, this is also the only humanoid shaped Secret we have ever seen.

- Eureka's actions 10 years ago formed the foundation of what would become Generation Bleu and their mission. Before that, no one knew about Quartz.

- The non-timeloop Eureka wants Ao to help her get back to Renton, and she says something "big" is going to happen soon, and that the Secrets are not humanity's enemy. This is probably going to be the main "hook" for the rest of the series.

Lots of major stuff being dropped on us this week, but it's nice to see that this isn't the sort of series that just holds everything back until the last 3 episodes. At least now we have some theories confirmed and some debunked.

Hmmmm, time traveling my favorite kind of plot device. It makes for good story telling and revelations, but I also hate it because we all know how it will all end.

Heh, guess Ao take after his dad. Brash and hot headed, but he's definitely got momma's good looks. I bet he's going to be a pretty boy when he grows older.

Wow, the Gekkostate! That ship brings back a lot of memories, I wonder if it is because of this specific event in the past that allowed humans to survive the coming apocalypse.

The Eureka from 10 years ago recognized the chief and the Japanese solider. I think there should be no doubt that this is Eureka before she gave birth to AO and she needs to go back to the future *slaps head at reference* in order for the timeline to remain the same.

Also, Truth does seem to be the secret Eureka fought 2 years ago. WOW, this was a big episode full of new info.

Again, I'm left wondering if at the end of this show, will AO go to the future to be with her parents, will his parents come to the past to be with him, or will he be left stuck in the past forever separated from his parents?

For your last point, IF we take that last scene from the OP to mean anything- I would say Ao would stay in this timeline to be with the people that are in his life. Pretty much a choice between Eureka or Naru as it is.

What we obviously know now is that "this" Eureka will leave back to her normal world, then head back again. She'll bring with her Renton's copy Nirvash.

Which means every single IFO we've seen in the series is based off Renton's work. Axel would be proud.

The Secret form from 10 years ago, and Truth's rocket punch attack, both remind me A LOT of TheEnd from the original E7. There are lots of similarities in terms of the overall look and the arm design. Most notable is the horns it has, as well, which looks like TheEnd's head design with some stuff twisted or inverted...

That's why I wouldn't throw out the time travel theory yet.

Either Eureka Seven AO is a weird "prequel" to the original series or it's an alternate universe in the past.

Although it makes little difference.
Except that the former would have the whole predestination thing going on.
Which would be a bit depressing.


Anyways, people who complain about the fight scenes really need to chill out.
They're comparing a whole series to a show which just entered its second cour.

And bringing up Evangelion of all things? The show used the same Monster of the Week formula.
Yeah, some of them were exceptionally well done but I think the scenes of Death&Rebirth and Rebuild of Evangelion makes you view that show with rose tinted glasses.

One major thing you guys fail to mention regarding this time travel theory, is that in Ao's timeline, there is clearly no RentonxEureka graffiti on the moon.

Why is that so? 2 possible explainations at this point:

1. Eureka travelled to an alternate universe
2. Eureka did not travel to the future, but the past. What this means is that Ao's timeline takes place 10,000 years before the original.

time travel storylines usually involve 1 of 2 kinds, predestine or paradox. Wonder which route would BONES choose.

I watched the entire Eureka Seven series last week just to watch this. Not that it wasn't bad. Actually I enjoyed it immensely and I'm enjoying the heck out of this series too. It was a bit annoying that it wasn't more of a direct sequel (I think this episode just hinted it to be a prequel?!?!), the series on it's own is fantastic. The first couple of episodes gave time to focus on the characters (and that was great because it was exactly like the first season), but now they're really starting to lay the plot on thick.
