NEW UPDATE

I think my headset is b0rked. Now at normal recording levels (in windows I used to set it to about the 3rd line from the bottom in recording control, with +20dB boost). the mic isn't picking up much. When I replay the song I can barely hear myself - level is like -20 dB or something. When I increase the recording level, it picks up part of the audio from the headphones, thereby distorting my voice when I sing. When I record-play an instrumental track and stay silent, then stop and replay the recorded track only, I can hear the distorted audio from the headphones. It used to be that the headset mic wouldn't pick up the headphone audio yet pick up my voice quite loudly.

Question: does this mean the headset is dying/dead and I need to buy a new one? Or is it some other hardware or software misconfiguration? I did reinstall Windows recently so I'm not sure if that affected it in any way. I don't want to waste money on headset replacement unless I know that that is the problem. Thanks.

And so close to the DKC....

EDIT: Hmm... now it seems to be working again. Still... it might be unreliable.

Well I'd have liked to help you, but I don't know anything about those audio configurations ^^; I myself have to increase my voice recording and decrease the instrumental music (everytime after I finished recording), to be able to listen to it T_T

I'm starting to get nervous even though there's still time. My tots have decided that whenever I want to rec my parts is the perfect time to scream and ask for things. That means that I start, and then suddenly there's a tot asking for water. I start again and then comes another tot saying "mama, mama" and pointing to my lap. Then, if do place her on my lap she starts singing the last syllable of every word I sing. They enjoy it, but I don't since I can't manage a single recording in that way!!! I'll cross fingers though.

Heh. It's easy! You just close your eyes, turn away, plug your ears so you don't hear me making little puppy dog noises, and say, "NO!" and then run away fast.

I wonder who you are referring too.

Anyway, I almost have some drafts ready for one of my partners so that she will choose a voice (already did one of the voices), I am in drafts mode with another two partners for some time now, and then there's one partner to whom I also owe files, but hope to send them before the end of this week if in luck.

Well today I sent files to a partner and I hope that finished my duty with that partner. I almost sent that partner a wrong file, btw, one that I have ready for another partner as sample. lol Now that would have been funny. That partner would have suddenly asked, "When did we agree on that song? I don't remember that one."

Hopefully, I won't end up sending all the wrong songs.

Anyway, how is everyone's progress? Today I've finally sent the most difficult draft I've made to the 3rd partner. Yaiii!

I still owe a final version to my first partner. I think I already finished things with my second partner unless she suddenly makes me do the files all over again.

With my 3rd, sent him the 1st draft today. Eep! The second will have to be the last so I'll have to do my best.

With my 4th partner... Let's just say that we haven't completely decided on a song.

But I hope we'll be settled soon enough. I had done drafts for HIKARU Stage for the 4th partner, but the song might be a bit complicated and I understand if she'd rather pic an easier song.

Who knows?

Ah well... As this thread has been kind of asleep I've decided to bring one of my drafts that will never get into a kara comp.

Just got fragments of a song from one partner, had a draft (?) from another partner, waiting to hear back from another partner, and the last partner is probably dropping out. There was a fifth potential partner but I have not heard from the person for a while after the initial interest. So that brings me back to three more-or-less confirmed partners for the duet.
