At this point I shouldn't be surprised that such a thing would turn up (of a character I failed to notice even existed, no less), but it still somehow baffled me. Really?

Poorfag has become an obsession of /a/ and of mine too. I've been part of the Poorfag threads since the beginning just a couple days ago lol, and I still can't believe how far Poorfag has come...its so beautiful . I even edited the wiki page a bit by adding some of the fanfic comics and linking the threads. Everyone should go look up the threads, they are glorious

Well...

http://www.animenewsnetwork.co.uk/ne....s-on-same-day

The most interesting tidbit of this article is at the very bottom, entertaining the possibility of Madoka and Bakemonogatari becoming licensed titles anytime soon as negotiations with possible distributors are finalized.

I'd rather have TRSI/Nozomi pick it up; they sure know how to do it right, quality-wise. Bandai Entertainment comes as a second choice.

^Aniplex America would be dumb to let those two properties slide...

Anyway DVD sales in, no BD yet of course, saw it on MAL

Here are the weekly DVD & CD rankings for May 16th - 22nd.

DVD
*5, 9,574 9,574 Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica vol.2 Limited Edition DVD ver.

Vol 1 did

*6 *9,097 *9,097 Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica v1

So that's an increase of 477 copies from V1 to V2.

Stratos v2 was very close to v1 as well, sold only 34 copies less but it didn't have a recall issue to deal with.

T&B Vol 1 DVD didn't even chart high enough... that's going to have the biggest ratio from BDVD for a hit anime show period, the BD Vol 1 has been out of stock for like 6 days already, lol @ the 250,000 Yen starting price for the one used copy on Amazon.

Is the OST bundled with the DVD, too?

After these folks came up with the Witch of Speculah (complete with the profile card and anon familiars), nothing can really surprise me...
She's already being shipped with Mami for some reason. Hey, guys, if you want a crack pairing, might as well ship her with Kamijou!

Sells between vol 1 and 2 are basically the same. We can expect the rest of the volumes to land in the same general area.

Your chance to eat Kyubey's head.... is now.

In America, the Witch chases you. In Japan, the Witch runs away from you. In the Middle Ages, the Witch gets burned.

Thanks to /a/, I managed to get a translated scan of chapter 9 of the manga. There's a few differences between the manga and anime, although most of them are unimportant. Instead of Oktavia summoning wheels, it and Kyouko exchange sword blows. Two noticeable changes that caught my eye: One is that Kyouko actually gets impaled in the fight...and the other is a manga only page that seems to hint something between Kyouko and Sayaka

Heres a DDL link for Chapter 9 if anyone's interested: http://www.mediafire.com/?o6xlbl54dyv43ds

Holy cr... That "let me see a happy dream" part was tearjerking enough in the anime, but here it goes over 9000...
But the author actually went as far as to show that happy dream Kyouko might have in the end...

Yea, for some reason, that part was much more heart-wrenching for me than in the anime...I have to applaud hanokage-sensei, she has a really slick and beautiful artstyle, and she knows how to bring emotion in the manga through those facial expressions...

And I just found a DDL link for Chapter 10 once again thanks to /a/. If anyone wants it: http://www.mediafire.com/?xsjv2ohd7d49s4s

For me, it was two-fold. One, Kyouko actually got pretty badly injured. It makes more sense this way than her just getting a little scuffed up and deciding on a kamikaze attack. This way at least shows that Octavia was a threat, rather than a pushover that they don't even have to try to keep up with. The second was the obvious closure scene, and I'm really glad we got that.

It seems to me that Kyouko would beat Octavia effortlessly (when the going got tough indeed, she sliced off her hand in a matter of seconds). The anime makes sense in the way that Kyouko realized she couldn't save Sayaka. There was nothing she could do but kill the witch before she started killing people - the LAST thing Sayaka would have wanted and imagined. And there was nothing for her afterwards but to live until she dies or turns into a witch and kill people before put out of her misery by some other magical girl. She chose to end it there and then, keeping Sayaka company and praying that she might have a nice dream (interpretable as "joining Sayaka in the afterlife or wherever").
If Sayaka could be saved, Kyouko could have lived on just for the sake of being with this blue-haired "idiot" and watching over her lest she should ever collapse into despair again. As of the real turn of the events... she hardly had a strong enough reason to live on.

Reposting from another forum:

Me and my Chicanoisms...this is how I would call each of the Puella Magi...

La Niņa - cute, young, innocent, self-righteous girl, Madoka Kaname
Holmes - gangster slang. What you would call a good friend, a stranger, Homura Akemi
Mamacita - little mami; usually referred to a hyna or fine girl, Mamicita, Mami Tomoe
Aguabella - beautiful water, Sayaka Miki
Madre Bendita - holy nun, Kyouko Sakura

Being a huge Sayaka fan, a possible title for a Sayaka x Kyoko yuri doujin would be Agua Bendita (holy water).

Oh, and thank him for this...
