I'm wondering if that pause before the Pirate Hunter ship goes into hyper mode is a weakness that can be exploited.

I thought the whole point to the pirate ships was not just only reserving military might for the former Colony Federation systems... but to have ships which they can stick illegal and powerful weapons on.

I'm going to pretend that cool ship is a experimental ship stolen from the Stellar Empire.

The pirates ships are supposed to be "old" but they are continuously upgraded...budget permitting. They seem to keep up with regular military ships quite well. This new ship seems "exotic." Obviously some sort of experimental super weapon.

As for Marika's father. I think he could be a shotout to Tochiro from Captain Harlock. Marika's mother was a female space pirates... like Emeralda.

In case it wasn't noted before. The Outlaw Star and Bentenmaru have similar profiles.

If I understand correctly, high school seniors would take their exams for University before the end of the year so they will know where they are going.

Marika is a year behind Lynn and thus is just taking her exams to be sure she passed her present year of high school before becoming a senior.

Lynn is likely to have a recommendation to Space University due to Jenny, so she might have been able to get in sooner. (Or she hacked their computers).

If I recall correctly, the Seniors finish a month or so before the end of the year. They usually say for graduation, but there is not much for them to do.

Marika's end of the year exams are coming soon and is already up as Club President.

However I am not sure if Lynn is leaving or if she jus doesn't have to go to school the last weeks. I seem to recall that the Club planned for one more trip on the Odette II for Lynn's last run. I don't know when this is suppose to happen, but we migt find out more once the Bentenmaru is back from this ecort job.

with enemy as strong as this one, the old bentenmaru definitely needs heavy upgrade!!

but if you look at how Marika solved her previous problems, I bet that this case will be solved by relatively peaceful and unexpected method instead of battleship combat

I don't know if Marika can Picard her way out of this. As this ship is a pirate serial killer. She didn't exactly do it peacefully when the Bisque Company tried to kill her.

Unless she does a trick like what she did with Odette II on Lightning 11 she won't win this fight as the Bentemaru is out classed.

Yeah, I said relatively peaceful right ^^. She choose to run from Bisque and blackmail the coward fiancee instead of fighting the Bisque head on. There is some fight involved but nothing big.
