Anime crows are stupid?
It's been bugging me for some time... am I the only person that noticed that crows in anime always say "aho" - fool. Is that how Japanese people make a crow sound? Same with a frog sound where it's "gekko" - (moonlight?) . Anyone know the reason behind these two?

Animals just make non-sensical sound-effect type sounds in Japanese, like cows say 'moo' in English. They don't actually mean anything. |

Well, I think that having crows cry "fool" is apropriate in an anime since most references to crows I have seen show them as evil, almost demonic creatures. Definately bringers of bad luck or worse. It would kinda fit with the line from an old trajedy that stated something along the lines of "fool, today is your doom" which in the play was spoken by, of all things, a crow.
