Hmm, is Arthur going to be THE King Arthur? or maybe some twist cross reference thing... I never played the game so i dunno.. but its just that theres so many things that reminds you of that... The end of the OP with the sword in the stone.. The mage, Ogam being somewhat Merlin like...the thing with arthur going for the path of the kings... and well, his welsh name arthur... but maybe its just all bunch of coincidences.

Hakuoro-san is reserved, honest, model citizen, whereas Arawn-sama is more cynical, and arrogant.
However, the core of their personalities and roles are almost identical. Unconditionally loving, gentle fatherly souls, true kings.

As someone who played both games, I find Arawn-sama slightly more "cool" than Hakuoro-san, as he is not meekly passive towards girls and mating.
As for the anime rendition... well, we'll have to wait and see. Hakuoro-san's personality and desires were transparant from the start, because of his amnesia.
But Arawn isn't amnesic, he knows everything from the start... so his intentions and inner feelings has to be slowly revealed to the audience.
The two will only be comparable when Arawn-sama is exposed to the audience. It's gonna be a long ride.

THat's also an issue in the game (PS3) where he does some pretty odd stuff - justified in the end - but no one in the cast questions his motives.

They definately use names familiar to King Arthur but i it doesnt seem like anything from the King Arthor lore. Since Morgan from the King Arthur lore is an antagonist and King Arthur is her Half Brother.

Second episode was definitely a step up from the first for me. Admittedly it's still a bit of a talky series so far, but there's enough going on and sufficient intrigue to have piqued my curiosity. I will be keeping up with this show from here on out, hoping this trend continues.

Also, Arthurian legend references are always welcome, so long as this doesn't turn into another train wreck like another series I know that used them as well. coughFate/staynightcough

I really wonder about Arawn's future with girl's just deciding to become his wife. Thank god Arthur losing a duel doesn't mean the same thing as Morgan losing the duel or we'd have a very strange series .

I know Arawn is going to be getting the harem, but do wonder if Arthur will be left with nothing. Is a good guy so would be too bad if he just ended up nowhere by the end of this. Considering the OP it's not like there will be a lack of girls out there.
Anyways I'm glad Arthur got things cleared up with that duel. I mean they never really got to settle things. Knew he was going to lose, but has to at least take care of things in his own way. Agree with Arawn that he really does everything with energy. Thankfully they didn't overplay the seasickness.

Do wonder what that duel was all about from Morgan. Was she hoping to get killed so she wouldn't have to face Arthur's wrath at her failure ? Or was it to protect Arthur from putting himself on the block due to picking her for the mission? Oh well luckily everyone escapes with their heads.

Things moved pretty quickly so no complaints about that.

My favorite episode so far (probably because I liked Morgan the most). I was impressed with the fightscenes, I loved that we finally see Rhiannon and Ogam using some magic (and see the former useful during a battle) and Araaaaauuuuwn's laid back attitude made me giggle again.
The only thing I don't really understand is that why did they put that scene with Araaaauuuwn and Arthur duelling, as during the PC-game he had to perform "other duties" . Did they fight in the PS3 version on the ship too by any chance, or is that just an anime only thing? (In the PC-version they fought a lot earlier, if my memory serves me right)

No silly, he challenged him to see if Arawn was worthy to be his sister's husband and protector and leader of the tribe. I hope by end of this anime Arthur gets a girl too. It would be wrong for only one guy to get all of the girls.

I have to profess that I've gained a certain amount of respect for Arawn after watching Episode 3. It certainly takes the dignity of a Demon King to not lose his cool and double over laughing at the complete LULZ of the Gael tribe's sillier moments, especially how the Gael girls practically stick to him like glue.

That said, this series is turning out to be surprisingly bloody, and I thought the industry generally has an averse reaction to blood shown on screen. Hmmmm.

EDIT: On another note, the harbor battle scene was good in its own right, but Rhiannon giving that last hapless soldier a sweet smile before smashing him into the wall just takes the cake. I don't know whether or not to take this series seriously anymore.
