The Japanese blu-rays are awesome. They're already subtitled and packaging is great. #4 comes out this month. 3 episodes per disc. For those who don't mind paying extra for the Japanese release, this is a must have version.

The Japanese voice actors are Superior (not surprising given the all-star cast for Akko, Diana, and Ursula), but teh dub is acceptable. the English *subs* are horrible however.

It might be worth it to you to seek out the Asenshi fansub instead.

Neither. The dub is full of bad voice acting and miscast on the voice actors they got. The subtitles are horrendous with poor translation and poor wording. The Japanese BDs from TOHO have far better English subs, and the fansubs are a bit better than the official BD subs. Watch the fansubs instead.

I did a full comparison on all 3 subs:

1

Netflix Version:

2

4

Netflix Version:

TOHO and Fansub:

The lines were split in two for the TOHO and fansub version

Finally just a comparison between TOHO and the fansub version:

Overall the Netflix is the worst of the three while the fansub is the best one by only a little.

It looks like there might be some life to this series yet:

Little Witch Academia TV Anime List as '1st' in Website URL

Quote:
The official website for the Little Witch Academia television anime series, previously http://tv.littlewitchacademia.jp, now redirects to a new URL http://littlewitchacademia.jp/tv1st/. Though the new URL contains the designation "1st," no sequels for the television series have been announced.
So maybe there's a second season in the works. That would be cool I say.

I also managed to check out the 21 minutes of gameplay for the new Little Witch Academia game. If I'm correct, some of the female seiiyuus were playing the game those minutes.

I found this to be an charming little series, I would compare it to an american cartoon but with an TRIGGER twist, an combination that compliments one another pretty well.

My only complaint would be that one of the characters--Jasminka--is overweight and loves to eat, and that they never develop upon her character beyond that.

But one scene that stuck out to me was this one:
Spoiler for episode 22:
