Round 3 Yui vs Hinagiku could be the biggest match of the tournament. Could see our first 1000 vote winner

OR3 10+2=12
H2 3+1=4

PE2 2 [Horo,Kotomi Ichinose]
FE2 4 [Shokatsuryou (Shuri), Hisa Takei, Ein, Tsuruya-san]
OE2 2+4=6
XH2 5

My picks for Round 2-10

E4-06 Rika Furude [She's the best opponent for the Pink Knight but K-ON faction might do something to make Yui Hirasawa win this match with only a handful of representatives left in SaiMoe. Hanyuu with unexpected help form HnG and Saki faction should help Rika get this done with]

F4-06 Ami Kawashima [Okay High Haruhi Tolerance Mikuru might win from this match due to split votes.. unless Taiga fans give all their support towards Ami. Rush ending might also affect the overall situation.]

Highest vote Rika Furude [2007 Champion, eliminated at round 1 last year which happened to Kagamin this year. Will Yui overpower her or she win at the end]
0-2 and Taiga emerged as a victor in group F with the elimination of my group F representative Ami joined Mio in the sidelines, Maria is in big trouble. Yui showed that she has the power to oppose Hina-chan next round. Only 6 left from my predicted final eight.

Round 2 Stats
PR3 10
FR3 2
OR3 10+2=12
H2 4

PE2 2+2=4 [Horo,Kotomi Ichinose, Rika Furude, Ami Kawashima]
FE2 4 [Shokatsuryou (Shuri), Hisa Takei, Ein, Tsuruya-san]
OE2 4+4=8
XH2 5+1=6

My Predictions for SaiMoe 2009

My picks for Group 2-11

E7-09 Ayumu Nishizawa [The most daring character in the series A-tan is not yet around. I wonder how much hamster power would she use to beat Tomoyo]

F7-09 Azusa Nakano [Mio-chan out and she is guaranteed winner for this block unless Teleport-chan do something]

Highest vote Ayumu Nishizawa [I want her to be eliminated to give way for Hina-chan (will have her hands full with Yui)]

Fuck Yeah Taiga. Sometimes you don't need a faction. Let's finish cleaning off the Haruhi-chan from the table so people won't get mistaken views. Maria vs Taiga shows promise.

Rika either goes out on round 2 or wins the whole thing. Confirmed. Hina vs Yui will be a great one and the first true fight for Hina.

Y code ending is the only foreign one I can recognize, but it can mark a tendency, so I gotta mention that Taiga won it 82-33(Ami)-23(Mikuru)

Losing to Taiga is one thing but I am damn confused that Mikuru couldn't even break 300, while the Toradora's got more than twice that each. Split vote what?

Not a good round for me.

Voting for Tomoyo and Azusa this round. Using Azusa in my sig for a change of pace, plus I'm a sap for catgirls.

Meh, I absolutely love Rika and all, but she had already won once, so it's not like she's losing out on anything. Besides, she'll come back next year with a clone, and comeback next next year with more clones
With 836 votes, it really seems like Yui is the only candidate capable of being a threat to Hinagiku and when it really goes down, it would be very intense alright

Predicting Ayumu and Azusa today. Even though Clannad suffers the backlash from last year a little less than LS, they're still weakened in general. Hamster should win this. The next match is Azusa's, easily.

Geez, it hurts to see how much people are dismissing shimako Well then again the only period during which Marimite had any strength was the first season back in 2004 I guess...

Predictions: 2-0 (R2: 18-2) (Overall: 103-13)
Picks: 1-1 (R2: 11-9) (Overall: 58-53-5)

As predicted, Yui and Taiga won, and in convincing fashion, by the way. Credit to Rika for putting up a great fight, but it's Yui who would be challenging Hinagiku in the round of 32. On the other hand, Taiga and Ami dispelled any notion of split votes hurting them, and Taiga emerged victorious. Anyway, at least Ami didn't finish last, and she was a bro until a bitter end. ;_; In any event, it was a tactical victory for Toradora, for knocking off Kagami early in order to give chance to Taiga.

Great matches on the horizon. Hinagiku vs. Yui is a blockbuster match, championship-worthy, even. And Maria vs. Taiga is exciting as well.

Anime Saimoe Tournament 2009 Main Draw, Day 35

To cap off the Saimoe week, we'll be having an intriguing match in the form of Ayumu vs. Tomoyo (vs. Lucchini). If this was held last year or in any other moe tournament, there is no doubt Tomoyo would win.

However, this Saimoe is different. In the preliminary, Ayumu was less than 10 votes away from beating Fuuko, who is considered as one of the strongest Clannad girls. While Tomoyo is no slouch either, I can't help but feel but she'll lose here against a stronger Hamster, who has the benefit of getting enough focus this season of Hayate.

The other match is almost a lock for Azusa. Considering that Azunyan defeated Index' main girl, there's no reason that she'll lose to Kuroko.

Predictions and Picks:
E2-3 Hamster
F2-3 Azusa

Predictions: 2-0 (18-2; 96-20)

Rika put up a good fight. Now Hina vs Yui is looking to be a very promising match. Mikuru didn't even come close. I wonder what this means for Haruhi and Yuki later this week.

Vote: Ayumu, Azusa
Prediction: Ayumu, Azusa

Hina is in. So Hamster must join her.
Yui-senpai is in. So Azunyan must join her.

Wonder if I just set my expectations low so I wouldn't be as bothered by Rika's loss? Well couldn't vote anyways so felt a little detached as it was. Still regardless of past success a loss is still sad. Especially when it comes from a character I just don't like. Sure I can tell that Yui has moe appeal just that it doesn't reach me. Hopefully Hina is ready to annihilate since losing two favourite characters to Yui would suck.

Anyways indeed a day of sadness.

One wonders if Haruhi has lost its moe luster, or if the voters are being anal about the difference between Haruhi and Haruhi-chan.
