Shōjo Shūmatsu Ryokō (Last Tour) Anticipation

Quote:
Kadokawa announced two more anime at Anime Expo on Sunday. The first is an anime adaptation of Tsukumizu's Girls' Last Tour (Shōjo Shūmatsu Ryokō ) manga
Plot Summary:
Quote:
Civilization is dead, but Chito and Yuuri are still alive. So they hop aboard their beloved Kettenkrad motorbike and aimlessly wander the ruins of the world they once knew. Day after hopeless day, they look for their next meal and fuel for their ride. But as long as the two are together, even an existence as bleak as theirs has a ray or two of sunshine in it, whether they're sucking down their fill of soup or hunting for machine parts to tinker with. For two girls in a world full of nothing, the experiences and feelings the two share give them something to live for...

There's a minor misspelling in the English version of the title. Should be "Girl's Last Tour".

Studio is White Fox.

Since there are two of them, it should be Girls'.

Now this is an interesting announcement ... was not expecting this series to get an anime adaptation.

Am kinda interested to see how it will be adapted ... atmospherics will need to be really well done by whoever does this.

It's been a while since I last read the manga but it's quite a unique series. It has a distinct atmosphere and "look". It'll be interesting to see how it's adapted...

Post apocalyptic world environment somehow gives me Planetarian vibes... going to watch this for sure.

Is this a bit like Kino's Journey in terms of atmosphere (just without other people)?

Anyway, the premise sounds good. I like peaceful post-apocalyptic stories.

Should I expect something like Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō? Because I loved what little was animated of that?

Hmm ... I would say no. That manga is ... well ... I feel it is a masterpiece of the medium. The anime barely, barely scratches the surface of the source manga - at least in my opinion.

This is something else entirely. There are a few similarities, in my opinion, but only a few. It is not bad by any means, but comparing it to YKK?

Of course, the adaptation itself, in the hands of a capable staff, could possibly raise the level of things ... at least I could see something like that happening.

Looks like White Fox will animate it.

Okay ... color me curious now if this is so ... I could totally see White Fox being able to create the necessary ambiance for this series. Hmmmmm.

This sounded vaguely intriguing from the off, but having just purchased the first volume of the manga I'm totally in on this. It does come across like a reasonable "cosy catastrophe" kind of post-apocalypse story.

A.Must.Watch.

Seriously though I was very surprised to see the anime announcement. This is some rare gem people most often overlook these days.

And you have Inorin as the MC. Winter's looking good.
