Who is your favorite Jounin and why?

Where has this 'Jirayia thought the 4th' thing come from? I know that the 3rd Hokage tought the three Sanin (Orochimaru, Tsunade and Jirayia), but I dont remember seeing anything about the 4th being taught or teaching (although that may well be my dodgy memory).

Can anyone point me to the chapter this is mentioned in?

- The 2nd Hokage was the sensei of Sarutobi the 3rd
-- The 3rd was the sensei of Orochimaru, Jiraiya and Tsunade
--- Orochimaru was the sensei of Anko
--- Jiraiya was the sensei of the 4th
---- The 4th was the sensei of Kakashi
----- Kakashi is the sensei of Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke

I know that Jirayia tought the 4th Rasengan, and that Orochimaru used Anko and tought her a good few kin-jitsu before kicking her out, but didnt know anything of 4th teaching Kakashi either. I must have missed a volume or something!!!

That was mentioned a couple times as far as I remember, one of them was when Oro fought the 3rd, they showed a pic of all the teams, and you see Kakashi was one of the 4th's student.

Actually the 4th invented Rasengan as far as I know. And it's genjutsu, not kinjutsu

Yeah, I just checked the manga, what Hunter said about the sensei/student relationships is right, the 4th was a student of Jirayia (cant believe I didnt pick up on that), but there's no mention later on about the Rasengan. Id say its a fair assumption that Jirayia tought it to the 4th, being as he was the teacher.

And Jiraiya said that the Rasengan was the jutsu left by the 4th, who took 3 years to do it. The 4th created the Rasengan, and Jiraiya learned it later.

Anyway Vicious is right, both Jiraiya and Tsunade have said that the Rasengan was created by the 4th.

I donno about you guys but i took " a jutsu that the 4th left behind" as he didnt learn the jutsu. it took him 4 years to get as far as he did.

but i guess now that you mention it, it does make sense.

and was it in the part with the naruto vs tsunade fight that she says that the 4th invented it?
