Try Knights

Quote:
Japanese retailer HMV is listing the April issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Gene magazine with the cover revealing that Senzoku Erisawa and Shunsaku Yano's Try Knights manga is getting a television anime adaptation. The issue will ship on Friday.
Plot Summary
The manga's rugby story centers on high school students Akira Kariya and Riku Haruma. One day, the new rugby club member Akira gets advice on running from Riku, who used to be absorbed in rugby but gave it up because he lacked the physique for the sport. Akira takes an interest in Riku, and Riku's passion for the rugby gradually returns. By joining forces, the pair can play a new tactical game and aim for the top of high school rugby.

Public service announcement. There's an after credits scene. Also there is a "Let's learn about rugby" chibi-style segment that I suspect will be a weekly event.

Another public service announcement: the second episode had even worse animation quality than the first one, and in every wide shot the characters are rendered in hilariously bad CG. We might be looking at the Musashi Gundoh of sports anime.

I watched the first episode and was immediately turned off by it. Main reason was that one character promises to prove another character wrong by doing something they had given up on in the past. This is an overused trope and doesn't reflect real life human interactions, even in high school.

Also, it's nowhere near as good as All Out, so definite pass for me after reading the PSAs.

There's something off about the way characters looked in episode 2. It was as if their heads didn't fit their own bodies and were actually sewn on.
